Right now I am using Stoneherder's Flatbow and the arrows really, REALLY arc, causing dodges and strays. What is the best type of Bow to use, and if anyone has a 15^50 Zealous +30 Version of that bow, please let me know
Thanks :D

Try using favorable winds or read the wind this will minimize the doges and strays. If your using barrage then read the wind won't work. And for bow type? I say it depends on situasion flat bows are great when entering a Battle or luring then change to a short bow when enemies are close for more raped atks.

i would say for all purpose in PvE your best bet is a longbow. it is less range then a flat bow but a lower arc and it is useful in many situations. in pvp since you are closer and will be attacked no matter what, a recurve bow is your best bet. it is a longer range then a short bow and it has almost the same recharge time on attacks. its refire rate is only second to the shortbow but it gives you a better range.

Thanks. I've been trying to find a Longbow but I have had no luck, anyone got a cheap one? xD

I carry several bows on my ranger. A flatbow, a shortbow, a hornbow, and a longbow.
My personal favorite is the shortbow for two reasons. It fires fast and is harder to dodge and I love the skill screaming shot (bleeding anyone?). Using a shortbow means the red dot is always inside the audible range of screaming shot and causes bleeding.
Of course when shooting at something with heavy armor a hornbow with a 20/20 sundering mod (30% sundering total) helps punch through the armor.

i actually use a Recurve bow on my ranger, because of the low arch, however it still does not have the range of a longbow.
If you look up bows on GW Wiki there is a page that tells you the range, arc, and speed of each type of bow.

I got one i my storage that I don't use anymore but you might have to buy the zealous mod.
Stats are:
-Longbow
-max dmg
-15^50
req 9
vamp (perfect i think but it may be +4/-1)
(forget other mod cuz i haven't looked at it in a while)
I don't need any money and I know you already have my IGN so just whisper me in game and I'll hook ya up!
ill get around to making a new sig later

.... There is no best type of bow. Anyone telling you different doesn't know how to play ranger.
Hornbows are amazing for damage.
Recurves are best for interupting.
Longbows are best for pulling/longrange stuff.*
Shortbows are decent for close range DPS.
Have at least one bow for every situation.
*Unless you're using a Flatbow with RTW or FW. In which case the Flatbow is ok... however those two usually won't be on your skillbar if you're the only ranger in a party.

my favorite are recurves because like people said, they have the refire rate of a shortbow but have a bigger fire radius thing. It's like an in between bow because everything else is either slow or big arc, this has none of those.
quit gw for good. end of story.

I personally like the storm bow (which is a longbow). Looks cool, and it's great for staying out of range of things like giant's stomp in PVE. For PVP, idk I don't do much of that, but it sounds like recurve might be good.

Longbow and Flatbow has the exact same range. Longbow is more accurate than Flatbow, but Flatbow is a bit faster than Longbow and is easily evaded.

Wow, so much misinformation in this topic.
Bows are classed by 3 specs: arc, range, refire.
Flatbow: Highest Arc, Longest Range, Fastest Refire
Longbow: Normal Arc, Longest Range, Normal Refire
Recurve: Lowest Arc, Normal Range, Normal Refire
Horn: Normal Arc, Normal Range, Longest Refire (with a bonus 10% armor penetration ALWAYS)
Short: Normal Arc, Shortest Range, Fastest Refire
For the purposes of my categorizations, the real numbers are:
Arc -
Highest: really flies in the air, takes a while to get to the target, has a good chance to miss moving targets
Normal: has an up and down to its height, but generally flies fairly quickly to the target thus improving accuracy
Lowest: just as the name says, this arc type isn't really an arc at all, its a laser beam
(On a side note, things like Broadhead Arrow always give you a high arc on your shot, no matter the bow type, Favorable winds will always upgrade to the next most accurate, so a High arc will become Normal, a Normal will become Low, etc.)
Range (on a perfectly flat surface, height differences make these numbers change wildly) -
Longest: 1.6 times your aggro bubble
Normal: 1.4 times your aggro bubble
Shortest: 1.05 times your aggro bubble
Refire -
Longest: 2.7s
Normal: 2.4s
Shortest: 2.0s
Now stop making up facts just because you *think* you know something. No more crap like recurve fires as fast as flat and all that junk, you have the real information right in front of you now.

no better bow its just a prefernce. what ya tryin to do with ya bow would be helpful. like interupter machine gunner explosive spiker. splintering explosion?
interupters are best with short or recurve bows. spiker shuld have longbow and bring favrouble winds.
most other its a matter of preference if youd prefer to shoot mostly staionary enimies and saty out of their aggro ranger then flatbow the way to go.
flatbow is what your usin by sounds of it. they have massive arc but have an enourmous arc but against stionary targets or targets that dont move much they are invaluable.
they also fire very fast.
