I was playing Neverwinter Nights 2 for awhile and I noticed that you can create your own maps using a tool kit. I wondered how it would worked out if guild wars had something like that.
We could also held some sort of contest to see who could make the best mission with the winner actually having his/her mission being used in the actual game.
What are your thoughts?

I would do anything for something like that but I doubt ANet would be willing to do it. Anything that lets me create my own games I love.

but with those missions on NWN there come exploits and crap and its a hassle to deal with all those people screwing everything up in your missions.

I have to agree with AZN
Anet would need go open source on a game like GW cause way too many people are there playing and if it were founsd out any exploit it could ruin there reptation
NWN uses what is call HACK depending on which server you are you need or not need certain HACK thus making it harder for a full fledge hacking plus the said server are independant not like those in GW
the idea is great but I fear not feasible

that would be very complicated and if a person made a mission theres nothing to stop them making it very farmable just for them its to exploitable.

Yeah just imagine a room full of smites with the AoE rules removed and drop rate increased. Modding opens up a pandora's box of problems that no one wants to deal with.

Anet should make a little program then, in which you can create the mission. you can set up an area, mobs, objective etc.
The objective you have to write yourself
objective: blablabla i like pizza with salami. (bad example)
then the people can send them, yeah most of them wouldn't be serious. but some people wanna test their skills on this.

Well, at the the time of me making this topic I was thinking how they do the art competitions where you have to submit your work to be judged and then ether its a new sword or cape design then it will be added.
I wasn't thinking that the mission would be put on a "server" but be like any other competition that is more difficult.
But if some of you are saying its not possible then I guess it isn't.

maybe make it so you could create custom rooms OFFLINE that way if you wanted to test how a build would work against certain types of monsters/builds and different conditions you could do that without overloading the servers and or destroying the game balance that anet constantly tries to maintain.

Not just test a build but it would be fun as hell. THK was such a let down, I expected huge swarms of enemies to come at me and I got small groups of 2-4. If they made an offline thing like that I would remake THK with huge mobs, just they dont' drop anything.

IDK about the PvE aspect, but you could do it Halo style, With a small 4 on 4 map that you created, just like RA, but one that you and your friends could play on privatly, or go public with.....i dunno tho.....

That's a great idea there, a ''make your mission'' competition ^^
IMO, i seriously DONT want custom maps unless it would be a competition kind of thing, or when the rules get very tight, i can imagine everyone making an ideal farm map and such, i prefer some sort of competition where the ideas are checked, so we get some good results, quality of quantity, even with missions.

If you can make an easier place to farm, people will do that still, even with the current ''uber'' locations, you can't stop people from doing it easier if you let them...
