How do i play the demons i downloaded

sup, im kinda new to ut, just wondering how do i play the demos i downloaded?

i read that i am supposed to go to community and there is a demos tab, and there is but i am not able to click on it, i downloaded the demoes to my desktop...

if someone could help, it would be much appreciated, thanks

create a demos folder under your 2k4 directory... put the demos in that. Then go to community/demos. It will tell you what few files you are missing dl those and then instal them. That should fix it.

thanks for the help,

i downloaded spawngrenades which is like 2.15kb because thats what it told me i needed to download, but i cannot install it, it is just a file...do you know where i am supposed to put it because i put it in the demos folder but it still wouldnt let me run the demos...

Here, download this program (rk's demowatcher 1.5) http://vec.be/page.php?id=854 (originally posted by SubZero). It will download all the files that you need and will place them in the correct categories. Just double click on the demos. Hope that helps.

alright so i installed it, and i got to play the demo, and it says loading teh demo, but it freezes my computer everytime, i have tried from just double clicking on the file, then i tried from going to community/demos and playing it from there but the same thing happens..

yep, that's an online tourney. OLB, to be exact. OLB is run by this site, so whenver a tourney is announced, you can sign up on this site (in Gameamp Tournaments section of the forum).

There have been three 1v1 OLB tournaments, one invite, one on-the-spot (just getting first 8 off mIRC), and one for custom maps that you could sign up for. 1v1 tourneys are usually completed in 1 day.

To reach the community, you should use mIRC. here's a guide on how: http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showt...threadid=447072.

(btw, if mods feel like the above article is useful, you can include it as one of the guides).

Hitscan means basically the type of weapon that hits instantly (like lightning gun, shock rifle, minigun).

I've enjoyed several of the amazing demos available from this site and they are a great way for noobs like myself to learn a thing or two from the experts. I especially enjoyed the demos of Burnie & GitzZz from last year's ES Worldcup. I noticed as the matches began (right after warmup), the announcer says "Prepare for battle", but I've never heard that in any matches I've played. It's a small thing, but now I'm curious whether that announcement only played in older (or special) versions of UTComp and if so, why doesn't the announcement play in current versions? Thanks!

hmm i never really thought about that...never really noticed or cared but yes, it seems to only play in older versions. It's been removed probably beacuse the majority of the competitive players who have been playing with utcomp for their whole ut2k4 "career" (w/e you want to call it) got annoyed with it the same way people got annoyed with 2k3's announcer... i dunno though. i didn't make utcomp, Lotus did.

some of the demos still do not play, maybe i need a different patch but the ones i seen are hella sick...you guys probably already know this but this place...

yeah gimix is dope, he is in a clan with some of the guys who post here, and some demos are up, of him here. Check out the x6//demos, good stuff.

It will not play as its missing files
Is there no way to dled the files individually and add them to the UT directory???
