Ultimate LOTRO Buddy Key Request Post

I have noticed a super large influx of Buddy Key Request on our forums. Actually its the only post I have noticed. So in part to that reason I have decided to make The One Buddy Key Thread.

All request for keys should be placed here and all other post made for buddy keys will be deleted. No one has done anything wrong and no staff is upset its just alot of post on Buddy Key and one central location would be helpful. So if you want to request a key then reply on this thread. If you have any questions please feel free to PM. This thread will stay pinned so its easier to find.

Hey guys!

I know that asking for a buddy key is frowned upon by some people, but I have a reason for wanting one. Actually I don't even really need a buddy key. I just need a referral. Let me explain....

I paid the $5.00 to preorder LOTRO a few weeks before it was released. I got my preorder cd key that allowed me to play in beta and gave me the special preorder items. I really didn't care about any of that. What compelled me to preorder was the special pricing plans being offered to Founder's who preordered. The $9.99 a month or $200.00 for a lifetime subion plans seemed very reasonable compared to World of Warcraft (though I do still play WoW).

I ended up not picking up my preorder, because I was under the impression that as long as I had registered my preorder key, that the Founder's benefits would last for the lifetime of the game should I choose to purchase a copy and register it later on. Well I was wrong. I'll admit, I should have done my homework better. I just recently purchased a copy of the game, and found out that the Founder's offer was only good for 30 days after the game hit retail stores.

So now I have a brand new retail copy of the game (that I opened), and I have yet to register the cd key, because I really wanted to take advantage of the lower pricing being offered to people who got in during the beginning of the game. I thought I was one of those people, but apparently the preorder wasn't as valuable as I thought it was.

I did get some hope however, when I saw that Turbine has now introduced a referral program. The people you refer get 10 days free play time, which I don't need, because I have a full copy of the game. I'm not looking for a freebie here or to even try the game out just to see if I like it. I played it in beta, and I liked it. I was just a little late getting my retail copy. I noticed that if you have Founder's pricing, the first ten friends you refer also get your special pricing.

So here is what I am asking for. I would like someone with founder's pricing to refer me by sending me a referral at my e-mail address gaminggod@gmail.com. I will then register my full retail key, and you will get thirty days of free game time plus my sincere gratitude (for whatever that is worth to you). We both benefit, and I get to play the game at the price I had originally thought I was signing up for. If this interests you, please let me know. I would be eternally grateful to you, plus it is good karma, and what goes around comes around. Your guaranteed thirty days of game time, because I am not just looking to "try" the game. If you think I'm lying or a gold farmer then so be it. It will be your loss, because I am serious about this.

With all that said, I thank you for reading my speech. I hope it has at least amused you, and maybe even caused you to want to take action and help me out. :)

P.S. Even if you have signed up for a lifetime subion, you can still get a 30 day play time code to give to a friend or family member. So the referral is not a waste no matter how you look at it.

Hi!

I'm trying to get a Buddy Key for a long time now. I was eager to get into the beta testing, but i did not got in. Ever since the game officially started, I wanted to try it out, see if my config is good enough for it, how it runs in my comp, and of course to see the game mechanics. I really want to experience it, before I make my mind to subscribe and play with it.

In order for me to get you a Key Code I will need your e-mail address for Turbine to send you the Key Code directly from them. I will add your e-mail address to my buddy list on my LOTRO account and then you will get an e-mail saying something like (my real name) has sent you a personal invitation to Lord of the Rings Online. Please do NOT post your e-mail address unless you want the world to know it. Sending me a personal PM will keep your e-mail address safe. You have till Sept. 30th for this founder pricing offer but you still get to play the trial game for a few day regardless whether you buy the game or not

it looks like you have aready been invited by another lotro player with a lord of the rings online account reading this post. i was not able to add you to my personal buddy list, but you should have a key code to play game from them. just make sure that the lifetime membership is available to you if you decide you want that option. not everyone has a lifetime membership and it will not be offered to you if another player does not have it now. in the future send me a personal message (pm) otherwise anyone reading this public post will have your e-mail address and they will add you to their on buddy list with total disreguard to the lifetime membership option they may or may not have available for you. still you have till sept 30th to upgrade to the lifetime membership so don't wait too long or your chance will be lost.

important to note...

only the first 10 people that a founder reffers gets the founder rates.

in other words, after they have reffered 10 people (sent 10 invites) anyone after that cannot get the special rates.

that is a misleading because turbine only allow us to invite 5 people at a time. if one person decides not to activate or purchase the game, i am unable to invite another person till i cancel after 1 week or resend invitation. if they convert or purchase game then a new slot opens up for a new invite for a total of ten players

let me state one more thing i have my name and kinsip reputation at stake here. i am not going to risk turbine closing my lifetime membership trying to sell the 30 pass credit to someone. i can not use the 30 day pass just pass it along to a friend who decided not to get a lifetime, most likely gaminggod credit will goto someone in my kinship later, who knows?? i am just trying to recruit active members like onni and birchleaf currently in my kinship (but they have lifetime as well).

I no longer able to offer the Founder's Pricing. I am going to petition for the last 2 players I invited. Because as far as I am concerned I have recruited a tolal of just two (2) players and eight (8) Activated trial accounts with three (3) unactivated key code on my account. In my opinion that's 10 invites but Turbine sees it a little different. We will need another Founder to carry the founder pricing and I mean a Founder that was in the Beta stages of LOTRO

We of The Shoal have come up with a solution for Founder's price memberships. Simple, we have other Lifetime members of The Shoal whom have been with LOTRO since the beta who have not used their 10 invites to invite you. I will pass your e-mail address to them while Turbine still offers this Lifetime plan. You might have to start new characters but you will have the Lifetime membership.

I will send the e-mail address to a lifetime LOTRO officer in my kinship. Since you posted in it is possible someone might have already sent you an invite. Again I have personally used up my first 10 Lifetime Membership spots but I know someone else that can.

I'm also looking for a founder's buddy key. I just bought the retail box, so you'll definitely get credit for a new member from me. My email address is my username (beclemund) at gmail.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[edit: no longer need an invite; my retail product key got attached to a non-founder referral. It also seems that Turbine's outsourced CS doesn't like to answer inquiries.]
