It seems like my Salvage space is always at maximum capacity (yes I definitely need to hit WentWorths more often and do that buying/selling thing). So I constantly find myself having to delete salvage on the fly while on mishes. I don't like doing this but I want to have at least a couple open slots just in case I get a rare piece of salvage. So...
First question: When clicking on a salvage's info, I'll see one of 3 types of deions:
1) This salvage is blah, blah, blah, etc...
2) This salvage is blah, blah, blah, etc...
used in Recipe Damage (or whatever)
3) This salvage is blah, blah, blah
(this is not required for any of your recipes)
With #3, does this mean with my archetype/build, I'd never possibly be able to use a Recipe that would require this piece of salvage and does that only include my current powerset?
Second Question: I'm on a mission and my salvage is FULL but I haven't had a chance to delete anything and make room. If I do come across some rare uncommon salvage, will I automatically pick up this rare uncommon salvage and bump a common salvage? (this is wishful thinking on my part but one never knows).

To answer the first question...| QUOTE | | (this is not required for any of your recipes) |
This simply means that the Recipe(s) you currently have does not require that particular salvage piece to create.
Second question: yes, that is wishful thinking. When you're full, you're full. You need to delete something or go out real quick and sale some to the nearest NPC/store.
I usually try to pick the salvage that is easily replaced or i know for a fact is the cheapest to replace if need be. But it is always good to keep at least 10 open slots when doing missions. You can also place some that in a vault and get it later...another option.

Okay, so what does #1 mean? None of my current recipes require it.
I guess the question is: What's the difference between #1 and #3 (in my first post)? Neither are require for any current recipes I have BUT #3 says that and #1 doesn't.
Thanks.

Actually, there is no difference between #1 and #3.
When you view your salvage, it'll tell you about the piece of salvage itself and whether it can be used in a current recipe.

I believe number 1 is for the base salvage, and number 3 can be used in other recipes that you dont have at that time.

1: Base Salvage
2: Invention Salvage which IS needed for current recipes.
3: Invention Salvage which isn't needed for any of your current recipes.
Current recipes are recipes that are sitting in your inventory right now.

Well I have found the best way to go is when i fill up on salvage and don't have time to sit and wait at Wentworths, I go dump everything into the Vault. Once you do that it gives you a second wind so to speak on your salvaging. Once you have filled up again then sort between the two inventories and decide what you want and what you can sell and divide and conquer. Also if you intend to accumulate the invention badges it would be helpful to determine which invention salvage you require and set those aside in the vault till you have what you require to fulfill the recipe requirements.
