Man, i gotta say GW is the best MMORPG ever

Ive been taking a break from this game. I played WoW and got bored in 2 weeks.

I played SilkroadOnline, SRO, and it is nowhere good as GW

I tried Last chaos, boring.

Tried 9dragons, ZzzzZZzzzZZ

I tried 2moons dekaron, and lets just say "Exp rate destryoed the game"

I tried Sword of new world, realized its P2P (pay to play)

So i gotta say, this game is best MMORPG. Aw man, i aint gonna lie WoW really do sucks!

But hey, just showing some love for arenanet....

CORPG is a sub-category of MMORPG, not a separate category all together. Though it is technically an MMORPG, they coined the term CORPG to emphasize the casual playability of GW as opposed to more traditional MMORPG's.

How did you think it won the Game of the Year award for the category of MMORPG?

I believe it won it under the RPG category but I'm not sure.
There's not that many people to play with anymore =( Everyone uses henches and all my friends moved on to other stuff.

I Played WoW which is in my opinion guild wars only competition. It was mediocre and not worth the fee to me. Although when you grind in WoW it gives you a better feeling of accomplishment than when you grind in guild wars.

Besides that any other mmorpg is a joke. Thats honestly the way I feel about it.

lol that's why we play GW... not anything else...

What is it that makes WoW broing? Is it the slow levelling rate...which means that you don't feel that sense of achievement that often? I gave up after spending 6 hours at lvl 27.... 6 hours... I realised that it would only get worse....

Aion looks cool though..I hope that levelling is fun though.. otherwise if it takes a while to get to max lvl it will become boring..

I havent played it myself; but have seen a friend play it. I was sitting behind and looked; i fell asleep in 5 minutes... to my taste it doesnt look appealing; gameplay doesnt look appealing and the fact that travelling takes so long that you can smoke 2 sigarettes, drink a few coffee's and call a long lost friend and catch up on the past 15 years makes me joyous for not playing it :)

WoW is a great game but you really need friends to talk to and have fun with.

GW doesn't need either, lol

It's so stand alone you can play solo and not get bored.

for wow, what class were you and what race?

If you start as NE it's hard to enjoy it until later in the game because NE island is so far away from anywhere, you miss all the PvP action :)

yeah i played wow ofr 3 monthsut to give it ago, palyted wgw daily too tho. did an ghour of grind then gw, like the features but seriously the grind is boring ended up just qutting wow after the 2nd month.

got to lv.46 human mage^^

, may get 2 more monthsut to get a lv.60, no way am i getting the expansions, around 2 onths to lv.70(i know a frenchman did it in 2 days), guessing 4 for 80....crazy fools

ive spent 70 hours playing GW this week xD, isnt the best game ive played tho, WoW WAS very good but people only jip it cuz other people do which is stupid. i mean PvP in it is awsome, quests are poop but im a pvp person tbh so i enjoyed it lots, yet GW PvP is also amazing so yeah GW is great game!

Yeah, as a quester I didliked WoW....

I only got to lvl 20/25/22/21//18/27 as a Belf (also got to lvl 15 as a NE and lvl 11 as a human / draenei lol)

I mean the first 20 lvls were really fun, as a BE, but after that it slows down hugely, becoming really boring...

I realy don't believe there is "a best MMORPG". It all really depends on what you want out of the game!

For instance: In WoW, you can really absorbe yourself into the roleplaying aspect of it and become "one" with your character.

In GW, if having a more realistic setting, great PvP, and a nice sence of "community" is your thing, then this is a great MMORPG for you....

It all depends on whether or not you like the "strong points" if the game or not....

yah i quitted GW for a while to try out WoW, night elf Feral Druid lvl 32 :P
But it became reeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaally boring at lvl 27 or so, and the maintenance on wednesday morning wasn't also that great ¬¬

However the armor and weapons at WoW are kinda cool imho, i did like the style of GW more :P

I've played WoW too and it amazeingly boreing. It was not worth the millions of hours u have to put into it to play at all! And not worth the gay friggin fee.

After spending years playing EQ raid-style (I was the top necro of my guild, first one to get the new epics for my class)...I was in no rush to go back to a grind/level/gear-based game.

Guild Wars is the first game that I really feel accomplished in. In every other game there was ALWAYS someone higher level than you with better gear. No matter how much you grinded, it was always a constant uphill battle to maintain it, and I personally despised it. I could never be the top necro on my server, because unlike him, I was not retired (he actually was) plus I had a home and social life to take care of. It boiled down to a time investment and I grew tired of keeping up.

But to each their own, I had some very good friends leave for WoW, and if they enjoy it, that makes me happy :-)

Different styles for every taste, for me it's long live GW!

Get off a PvP server, don't go in PvP contested areas or don't flag yourself, get on your mount, or go to a flight-master or get another person to teleport you. If you've not played WoW (which you haven't) don't make comments like this if ya know atleast a few of the facts about it.

Indeed, although hat-of-doom could perhaps have worded his post slightly better, he does make a valid point. It's all well and good to enjoy one game and not the other, but you still have to respect that just because you didn't enjoy it that time, doesn't mean no one else can. Nowadays it's very easy to say that was crap after playing a game not to our tastes, when we really mean to say I didn't enjoy it, or words to that effect.

Many people play both games, and make comparisons but at the end of the day, if you're playing a game you enjoy, then there's nothing to worry about. Don't insult another gaming community just because you don't like the game they play. Just like you, they're playing the game that they enjoy playing. Throwing insults back and forth doesn't really get us anywhere.

I personally have never played it, but my friend(who I now think is a total idiot for trying WoW) played for like 2 months and got bored. Let me set ther scene for you: he did some research as to wat is the best weapons and armor and spells, etc. He found plenty of stuff(as he did not feel like reading past the controls in 160 page instruction book, thats like reading a Lemony Snicket book when he first started writing)
He invited me to come over and he was a lvl 36 Human Paladin and he was in a guild that specialized in gnome raids(I still dont understand the concept of that)anyhoo, they went to some little gnome settlement(took them like 1 hour to get there,at which point I had fallen asleep) he woke me up and turned his pvp set on Active or watever it called. I then went in to detail on the PvP islands in GW.His only comment?"Hmmph that would help when ur a noob with no Radar(another reason I love GW) so you dont get ambushed by a lvl 70 night elf rougue(I still dont know wtf that is)" My response, "sigh." He killed 6 gnomes that day each took like 30 minutes cuz there were a bunch of Undead priests(he told me this was common in a gnome village for protection when a raid came)I told him if it was a good battle you could have had a top rated guild battle by then, or, if it wasnt good you could have had one guild battle finished and half of one finished(still assuming the other guild wasnt very good) His response was the same as mine,"sigh." then he said "I need to get back to Guild Wars." My thoughts were "Ya think"

Hope you enjoyed reading this story on how boring and slow WoW is!

Unfortunately you seem to be missing his point completely. He's saying that there is no "super duper best game in the whole world woot woot mega game". So to say that GW is the best game is really just your opinion, and easily expressed by saying, personally I like Guildwars the best, or similar.

We're not here to discuss which is the best game, merely why people choose to play one over another. Your mentioned example for instance, is one reason why your prefer guildwars over wow, which is all well and good. But it still doesn't make one better than the other, as hat pointed out, the millions of subscribers would suggest that it certainly achieves something it's players want out of their game.

Just like we think guildwars is the best, other gamers think their game is the best.
