| Just want to introduce myself and ask a couple questions |

I'm very new to Guild Wars and to gameamp so bare with me please lol.
I just bought GUild Wars Factions and it is realy fun and i chose it above all the other exspanions becuase of its eastern style and charter desiegn, which i think is realy awsome. But recently i heard about GW 2 and that Guild Wars Eye of the NOrth,or GWEN, is soppose to be a bridge to GW 2.
So my main question is, when i finish factions and GW2 comes out will i have to own the Eye of the NOrth Exspanion to use my Elementist from factions on GW2?

u cannot use any of your characters from the orignal GW games in GW2.
EotN links your characters through the Hall of Monuments which will allow you to keep certain armour, titles, weapons, mini pets etc to give u a bit of a head start in GW2

u will not need to own any of the original GW games, or EotN, to play GW2

Okay then, I'll just hafta make another Ele when it comes out. So does that just mean that all my progress on this char is gunnna be for nothing then? o.O

Welcome To Gameamp :)
As for your question EoTN is and expansion to any GW1 campaign (Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall) so you can use your Ele to do EoTN, but as for GW2 u cant, u cant only transfer titles ect. over but not ur actual characters.

nope, as said on the page about the Hall of Monuments, the major achievements u have made in GW will still carry through to GW2, just not the actual character.

Thanks guy i decided that I am goiong to buy NF and work thru that after i complete Factions and by then even if GW2 is out I am going to get GWEN and play it and treansfer all my stuff to GW2

Don't forget that GW2's beta isn't due until late 2008/2009, so you've still got 1.5 years + before you'll have to start from scratch.

Yeah, don't worry about not having time to get ready for GW2. From my personal experiences, once you know what you're doing, a campaign can be completed on average in a couple of weeks. This can be shorter, or longer depending on whether missions is all that you do in this time, or if you get stuck, for example. But still, you have plenty of time. ;-)

GW2 dosnt come out till a while, youve got time to complete the trilogy by the time it comes out AND do some other stuff

yeah, nightfall is only a couple of hours long around 10-12 form mainland i think.
+ he heros are good.
proph is the best to start with imo tho
also heads up there was a duping exploit, you dont need to know what it is but dont buy "armbraces of truth" incase you run into them.....really dont,
they are costly but if ther counterfit may go cheap,never know

First of all, welcome to GameAmp!
Anyway, I believe that you must have Prophecies in order to play GW:EN, since it´s an expansion for Prophecies. (The others campaign aren't expansions, that means you can play with them without actually having Prophecies, however, GW:EN is an expansion, or at least most people say so)
Sooo... I'd suggest to buy Prophecies first, unless you really want NF first, but it's up to you! :)

Welcome to the site!
Just to clear a few things up :)
Any level 20 character from any campaign will be able to access GW:EN, there will be NPCs (Non Player Characters) in every continent who will provide a quest to get there when you buy the expansion. Doesn't matter if you only own Prophecies, Nighfall or Cantha your Level 20 character will be able to play GW:EN.
The link between GW:EN and GW2 is the Eye of the North, a place to celebrate your GW achievements and use those achievements to give you possibilities in GW2 that non GW players won't have. It is highly unlikely that you will be able to use any weapons, items or armor in GW2, the mechanics of the game are likely to be hugely different. The idea of Eye of the North is to reward players of GW for their time spent playing and do that by creating items that reflect the achievements contained in EotN, it will give you an 'edge' as far as I understand it.
You have at least 1.5 to 2yrs before GW2 is released, you will get plenty of enjoyment from all 'installments' of GW in that time. I've been playing for 2 years an I'm still not bored, thats without GW:EN.

What I'm thinking what would be cool, is if, for example, you have certain ascended armor sets(15k), you unlock the ability to craft unique looking armor, that, in function, is the same as standard armor, just looks different, and the only way to unlock it is to have(for example) all the 15k armor sets for a certain profession. That would be pretty neat as it would be like FoW, but not only for those who are rich, it will be for those who have done well in the original GW.
