My main is a Ma/Sr hero and now im going to make a villain to be his nemesis.
What Archetype do you imagine to be the best suited to fight this type of scrapper and stand up to him, as much as im trying to rp im also thinking this from a pvp point of view- tbh i cant imagine a mm standing up against my hero for very long.

I would go for either a Brute to stand toe-to-toe with him, or a challenge - a Corruptor.

Against a MA/SR? I'd go Thugs/Dark or thugs/poison.
The second level pets bring the leadership pool, so if you get it as well, that's triple the leadership. Probably would cut right thru SR like a fat bird thru worms.
And because of GangWar, that would be a TON of opposition for SR to get lucky against. That many incoming attacks and I don't think he'd stand a chance.
And /dark MMs are really hard to fight against in PvP. My tanks get eaten alive by them one on one.
Then again, I'm the suxxor in PvP most of the time because I forget to rub the lotion on my skin and Grif gives me the hose, again and again and again...

Myeah, that would be a good idea... if TrueNoir hadn't said that he didn't want a Mastermind.
Now perhaps a Super Strength/Invulnerability Brute would be a good idea? It gives the idea of a more natural kind of powers, just like Martial Arts/Super Reflexes.

its not so much a dont want to use mm its that from a rp point it doesnt work, im not questioning their effectiveness in pvp but the describtions of mm are that they rely upon others erm and that after the minions are dispatched are well not reli effective.
From a roleplay point after my hero dispatches the minions ( and it would happen otherwise he wouldnt be a good hero) the mastermind wouldnt reli be able to take him on himself erm and thats not the image i want. The only prob i have with brutes is i dont get the impression of them being highly intelligent, i think its the fury that makes me feel that way.
My villian is designed to be a twin in appearance to my hero and also smarter, not as headstrong but still equally as powerful.
That kinda leave me brute , corruptor or dominator.

Well, if you want a smart character, go for a Mind Control/Psionic Assault Dominator. Hehe.
Anyway, I think you should go for a Corruptor. You just said that Brutes don't really apply to the role of your nemesis, and a Corruptor can hold himself pretty nicely and he can pack quite a punch!

I think the word Brute gives you a negitive conotation. I admit I didn't want to play one at first, but man... I love my Brute, and as far as story is concerned, you make it up, it doesn't matter what Archtype he is... Doms and Corrs both have Melee range attacks, Brutes have crowd control.. the powers tend to overlap. I'd make your story first, develop your villain a little more and see what fits. Sometimes the storys lend themselves to a specifit Archtype.
Oh and one mroe thing. Recluse is a Mastermind. Yeah, Statesman has to fight through his flunkies to get to him, but whenever you see the two of them fight, they're evenly matched. Try and think outside of game mechanics. Look at it this way, you can make your characters as powerful as you want them to be in a story, and they will never fight agaisnt one another in game, so the mechanics aren't important in this case.

Dark/dark cor, the evil shadow of your hero, generally thats a classic but if you want something diffent im sure it will come to you, i personally vouch for the mighty cor, but my advice is try a brute, cor and dominator for a few levels, then decide which you like the feel of the most :)
