after 22 months of playing GW, pve only, some guildies kind of 'forced' me to do AB.
So i went in with them and a random person. after being laggy in the first minute i made it to a great battle. i went in with my ele blinding sins and warriors and start to knock them down and....I LIKED IT :P
i already got a pvp slot now and every1 was like: wtf lost got a pvp char?!?(they all know i didnt like pvp)
now i know what ppl mean when they say: "First give it a try before complaining about it' :P
so for the ppl who say pvp isnt fun without doing it: First try and maybe u will start to like it just like me! :P

Erm, that last sentence has been a law in life for sometime, explained countless times before to lesser comprehending minds, AMP never escaped the same comments that stated this law to such minds, but thanks for making that real once again ;)
Good Luck with the PvP, theres alot of different sorts, so take what fits you best ^^

Yeah indeed PvP is very fun to play, nice to variate from PvE!
I try to play all sorts of pvp, only achived minor titles so far such as rank 3 or commander, and now close to gladiator aswell. But Im not so much into ab, dont find it so fun :p.
But thats what great with guildwars, theres so many diffrent styles of pvp, so everyone can find one that suits him/herself best!

Same...I'm largely a PvE player but I will binge on AB and Competitive Missions (and occasionally RA or HA) a few times a month.
A few months ago, I made an "AB Night" event with my allies. All my allies being strict PvE players, a few of them even told me they were nervous about PvP because they didn't think they'd 'be any good at it'. I reassured them that it's okay if they die, just be sure to
fight well,
die with honor,
and have fun!
Well, I can say that 3 of the attendees became AB addicts because of that event :-P

I absolutely love alliance battles. However I've noticed a trend lately of people not knowing what the tactics are and most people wondering why we keep losing... >:O
Haven't been able to play hardly any GvG or HA at all due to my guild being heavy PvE and kinda small too. So I'm a little disappointed in that.

Please, do what i tell all other guildies that complain about a desire they wish to become true, Rise up and take arms, take the lead position and make a team in your guild/alliance, get people excited.
Don't act like your leader has to do everything, work on your own account, might even get promotion, if your leader/officers dont agree that you should take the lead for making a PvP group, re-think if its worth staying.

yeah,ab is fun, if goign for rank tho best to stict with one, im r4 lux and r3 kurz, as now my stronest ab skill is only at r4 :(
