Ok.....Now I Am Sure We Have All Had this problem of facing leechers and leavers in RA, TA, HA, And AB(ie. Arborstone etc etc). Now...Idk about you, but I've been thinking about this and I think that Ive came up with an idea. Hopefully this will get implimented b/c it will be a shoutout to all you Leavers and Leechers.
For the Leavers:
Leave 2 Times in 1 day in RA
Leave during an AB 5 Times in 1 day
Leave During an HA 2 Times in 1 day
Leave During TA 2 Times in 1 day
If you Do any of these things, you wil get a temporary 48 Hour Title That floats above your head reading " I am a Leaver". Multiple offenses will cause this title to stack upwards from 48 hours, putting another 24 hours on top of the original offense for each time after the first one.
Keep in Mind, while you have this title over your head, you will be banned from RA, and any PvP battles that require no group to get in, such as Aspenwood. This will prevent Non-Leavers from leaving when they randomnly get put with a leaver or leecher, so that they dont get penalized too.
Now for the leechers:
Afk for 15 Minutes in AB
Afk for 3 Minutes in RA
Afk for 3 Minutes in TA
Afk for 5 Minutes in HA
Now Leeching is a little more serious. Same as leaving, you will get that title over you head...but this time it will say 'I am a leecher". Now this is way more serious. NOT the same as b4, you will get a temporary 72 hour title, but thi timey you will be banned from ALL of the PvP aspects of the game until this title wears off. This cannot stack b/c u will be banned from any PvP for 72 hours=Days so ya....
Now the only way u can get these leeching and leaving titles off..if you have multiple offenses, will be to contact A-Net and have them remove it. To do this, you will be temporarilly banned from the WHOLE game, for 2 days b4 being allowed back in. Once your 2 Day ban is finished you wil be allowedd back in with all of your offenses cleared. Keep in mind...the amount of time banned will increase, to the discresion of A-Net. So ya....lol....DONT LEECH OR LEAVE lol.
So thats my idea, and I hope its a good one, b/c I think it wil rlly stop leechers, and leavers.

Dont think they will get a title, its just ''too mean'', however this topic has been passed around and discussed before, and we all came down united on this plan:
Cool-down time.
A leaver/leecher that doesnt do anything, will get a no-PvP timer as a cool-down, so they got to have patience if their leeching :P
(wont be hard, considering most leechers just go AFK, so it wont be hard for them to sitout the wait, but then again, public virtual execution of leechers is also unfair)
though i would love to see that... lol, ''Leecher Vs Angry united AB mob''

this will definatly not work. what if there is a teasing runner when all the 3 others are dead. no one wants to see someone run around for minutes and knowing that you have lost. then the dead folks can leave and the last one can have his fun.

Well. That would penalize people that HAVE to go, or say lose connection, and that wouldn't be fair. I think it is too harsh.

ya bro......having to go? Umm.......you think its fair for ppl in RA who have to go and wind up screwing the rest of the team over? DCed I understand...but this is not harsh at all......if you think you are gonna have to leave....dont go into an AB or whatever...its not that hard to ratinoalize. Leechers and leavers shouldnt be treated nicley b/c they screw thier team over, and if you are sticking up for the leavers b/c you do it too...then you deserve this punishment also.....as for the post bove this one that I quoted.........your post makes no sense...if you could clarify it...that would e great.

dude I would try to get the title it sounds easy and thats the problem with it people will want the title just for jokes and that means your problem now is to big of a wait time dude and like the person above me said what if you have to go lets say your dogs choking and you go help him (it happened to me) so does that mean your a leacher now because you went to help your dog?

Here are three proposals for the new Gladiator Title System:

* Players get points for streaks. Players get 5 points for each 5 consecutive wins.

Ummm ya....as I said.......the temp ban only happens after multiple offenses. If you 'Mysteriously" spill coke on your comp, or your mom comes and tells you that you have to go 3+ times in 1 day...then you should be punished...b/c frankly that will never happen IMO.

Right, well in some homes parents do allow that you can drink behind the PC, so it is infact very very possible.
Spilling it that is, i never said shortcircuit, cause a keyboard can handle that, proven time & time again. (do clean your keyboard afterwards, sticky keys can spread diseases)

I think this is a bit too harsh a punishment, especially for the people who would get banned for not doing anything wrong (I've had to quit teams before). I've had the luxury so far of not having any leechers, and I have no problem with Leavers as long as there is a reasonable excuse ( Real life, connection issues, etc.). Otherwise, I've haven't seen any of the leavers you are describing. I'm not a fan of the "Needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" way of thinking, simply because the few people who actually have the outstanding circumstances to seem like they are leaving or leeching would be penalized for no wrong doing.

Anet have already come up with ideas to sort leavers out. Please read what I posted above. The idea suggested in this thread probably wont be introduced since anet have already come up with a their own and frankly better way to sort leavers out.

if they add a title for leaving or leeching, the leechers and leavers will appear more often because it Will count towards "Kind of a Big Deal" and these titles wont be hard to get unless the track is ridiculously large imo

ANet will thank you for having to deal with all those requests of players wanting their leaver/leecher titles removed...and unless ANet doesn't employ more people for this, other game fixes/updates/support/whatever will take longer due to more work from this title-removing thing.
Imho it's better what ANet came up, awarding the honest players more (getting glad points faster) than punishing the leaving/leeching ones. Cause I doubt it'll change anything, they'll just keep on leeching, it'll just take longer...

Leavers and Leechers have and always will be part of guild wars..so forget about it and play the game and focus on yourself instead of everyone else... also i agree with the above that anet are doing the right thing by not punishing leavers but rewarding people that stay.

What might be an idea, is banning leachers and leavers from whater they were leaching in (PvP, Challenge Missions or Cooperative Missions). Don't give them a title, but ban them from being able to do these missions for a period of time.
The way that leachers could be determined, is by having the leacher's team vote him as a leacher. They could do this by entering something along the lines of "/leacher leachersname". If a player's entire team votes them a leacher, then they recieve the ban starting from the end of that mission. Hopefully, the number of people required to vote for a ban will prevent any malicious banning, and the system could monitor and flag anyone that votes for a ban unusually often.
Though I'm sure Arenanet will have a better idea of what to do. I just thought I'd add my idea into the mix.

Well, that wouldn't work for Coop missions, cause if the ban starts from the end of that mission, leechers would have completed that mission anyway and don't need to do it again, so the ban would prevent them from doing something they won't do anyway. But that's for Coop missions only...
The other thing is, it happens from time to time that groups blame a team member for playing noobish or so and they could just decide to vote for him being banned/a leecher (although he isn't), just to "punish" him for not playing like they want him too...

Hmmm, good point, I didn't think of either of those.
Thing is, if the leacher is kicked straight away, then the team loses a player, hence why I thought they should only be kicked at the end, but I see why that would be pointless.
My idea was really because there's been a few times that I've been called away to dinner or to do a chore whilst in the middle of a Co-op mission (I don't do PvP that much).
Whenever this happens, I apologize profusely to my team and ask if it's okay with them if I leach until I get back and can rejoin them as soon as I possibly can. Under Artimues' suggestion, this would mean I would be banned, even though I had my teammate's permission and wasn't leaching by free will. I was trying to think of a way to get around that problem thereby protecting those wit legitimate reasons to leach.

Yeah, I remember people going away during missions (even elite missions like Urgoz), but they told they had to go eat dinner or so...and til now there were never problems and poeple waited or went on without him. In Coop's were there's not time limit, it's no problem to wait, only the timed missions can be a bit more difficult due to the missing person.
But anyway...seeing your post count, I think it's time to say WELCOME TO GAMEAMP!! :-)

i spelt orange juice on my modem once, had ot have it turned off for rest of day,

Yeah but you know what people will do?
They will put something on their arrow keys to auto spin and fart around with their interface settings to bypass...the... "afk finder" if you will...
