There are three ways that externally-obtained items may have made their way into Pre-Searing Ascalon:
Players activate their bonus weapons in Pre-Searing. We have no problem with this, and although the items are not really balanced for the area, we will not stop players from generating or using those items.
About a year ago, we briefly introduced a bug that allowed players from Pre-Searing to travel to their guild halls and back. We quickly fixed this bug. Since players may not have understood that it was a bug, we didn't ban anyone for taking advantage of it.
Recently, some players figured out how to hack their game client in a way that allowed them to travel from Pre-Searing to Battle Isles and back. Players who hacked their client to travel to and from Pre-Searing were clearly knowingly exploiting the game, so we will be banning all of them.
Here are the details of what will result from this situation:
If you hacked your client to travel to/from Pre-Searing, you will be or have already been banned.
If you received an item that was recently smuggled into Pre-Searing by a hacker, and our Support team believes that you knew or should have known that the item you received was the result of an exploit, then you may also be banned.
We regret the concern that this situation has caused our players. We are confident that we have closed the exploit that allowed players to carry external items into Pre-Searing Ascalon, and we feel that we have reached the best possible resolution of the matter.

to make a long story short, people hacked the game so they can go to the Batlle isles from pre searing, and get good items in pre. this is an exploit so people are banned.

lolz....ppl all ways have to have to use the easy way to get things....they should have a GW jail lol. Or an exocutiioner stand. wher the offensed toon gets executed, and is deleted lol.....that would make alot of ppl stop hacking..when thier lvl 20 3 mil exp toon gets executed..lmfao....of course im just joking, but it would be a funny thought lolz.
We fear what we do not understand......Yet, when we do understand, we feel entitled to know more. Why are we so afraid one moment, and so curious and greedy the next?

funny part is they try to show off like every 1 is suppose to respect them when every 1 knows you cant get high-end green weps in pre which means deedeedee hes a cheater

Charr Axxxe Fiend decided (with a nudge from nursing assistant) that its about time something is done about the problem that has to do with a few people who give a party invite, pretending to either be a friend of the target, or a new player seeking aid, and then accepting the quest from sir tydus and 'dragging' the target out of pre, through the academy, and into post searing, therefore ruining hours of hard work.
The main target of this are level 14+ 'perma-pre characters', in an attempt to ruin the progress and endless hours of hard work that goes into working towards the Legendary Defender of Ascalon title track.
The petition can be found at both guildwarsguru and on our forums.

I just got a good pruple item from killin charr in the north, its Req4 Blood|like 9-13 Dark Dmg|+13 Eng with -1 Eng Regen| is this item some item that was hacked into the game and am i gonna get banned for gettin this istm as a drop from charr??? It seems like a powerful item but who knows, if ppl hacked the battle isles thing, who says they cant hack the game so they can hurt other players? Item i got from charr in northlands - pre is this here:

* Japanese netcafe promotion (500 were given through lucky draw)
* Taiwan region Nightfall title contest prizes (61 were given)
* Taiwan GW official blog lucky draw (10 prizes)
If that little female warrior there fits those reqs then yes, other than that im VERY VERY VERY suspicious.

Hmmh, dunno...mini Onis were prizes in Japan and Taiwan. If they were handed to the winners as code that has to be entered like any other code in GW, it would be possible for a char in Pre to get it (with a command like /bonus or however it would be).

i asked her were she got it and she said from a friend i asked who the friend was and then she left.....should i report? i dont like tadlin on people but then again i dont like cheaters..

These were gained by entering a code, if you log into a pre searing character and do the /bonusitems /special command, you'd get the item in Pre.
You could do it with the Mini Asura, Mini Varesh and Mini Kuunuvang too...

Well, she didn't hurt you with that Oni or gained any money from it, didn't she? Maybe she got it from a friend who got it from those Japanese prizes...so she didn't do anything wrong. Imho having a mini Oni in Pre isn't as bad as duplicating armbraces, etc...

That's a legitimate drop from a monster in Pre-Searing, so I'd have to guess you would NOT get banned

yah i took mine about 2:00 eastern time went back on and saw her there what i think is funny is that right next to her is a minni axattaxe another person has which means the person that got it had to be 2 yrs old in pre that would make you rich as hell.

rofl a while back i saw a ranger with a r8 15^50 stormbow, he told me he got it from his guildhall when it was enabled... i guess that he got it legally back then xD
