Anyone up for a task force?

I have yet to do a task force in the game, except for the respec one in Independence Port and Terra Volta, and was wondering if anyone would like to do one here tonight or tomorrow.

I will be on around 7 or 7:30 EST and have numerous toons around. Not caring really which one is done but that I can do one.

Victory has a number of them in their teens and one at almost 38. Triumph has some in their teens and a healer at 38.

Also, what is the task force with the level cap of 15? Positron or Synapse?

I would love to have someone help my level 15 Arrow/Energy Blaster start that. I wanted to run that solo, but need to get it started at some point. That doesn't have to be tonight though. He is on Victory server.

Thanks.

Most of the TF's are fun and if you can get a chance to run the Hess TF in Striga I personally think it's one of the best ones they made.

RE: Anyone up for a task force?

I have a 16 Ice/Em blaster on Victory that can start it with you and drop out.

I'd gladly duo one with you on Triumph. I've run Positron duo in 2.5 hours with Electro, just a tank and a healer.

I can't tonight. Taking a shot at Statesmans TF this evening, but I can do one tomorrow night probably.

When I log on tonight, I will send out a message on gameamp channel and see who and what is available.

Swiss

I have a level 13 healer on victory. Would you get XP with a level 16?

RE: Anyone up for a task force?

Naw, you stop getting XP as soon as you cap the last level in the TF, but you usually don't loose a lot and being capped out for the last couple missions just makes it a little easier, and you still gain influence. So you can stall the leveling just a teensy bit and rake in a little money for the toon in the process for enhancements.

I used to run TFs one level under my current after the they fixed the auto exemp feature for a little influence booster when I was low on influence and needed to upgrade my enhancements soon.

How do you get the Hess TF and what are the level restrictions?

I am asking because I am too lazy to look to the left and get the info there.

RE: Anyone up for a task force?

Yup, what Big said. I believe it's 30-35.

Usually the story arcs in the late 20's to mid 30's in Striga or Croatoa will level you beyond the point that you can open up one or the other. They might have fixed that recently. Basically, if I could complete the story arc(Gawd, almost called it a quest chain......) for Striga, then I would outlevel the arc in Croatoa and vice versa blocking me from getting one of the TFs opened up.

So I would take one character through all of one arc to open the TF, and another character through one of the others.

I THINK...... they let you finish out the arcs now to open up the TF at the end of each. Even if you outlevel the contqacts. But you have to at least be on the last contact in the whole zone/arc/chain. It's just been a very long time since I ran anything through the 30's.

RE: Anyone up for a task force?

Ernesto Hess TF is lvl 25-30, I believe. My 28 blaster on Champ earned it when he was 27. I second the notion that it was one of the more fun TF's.

Moonfire, who is also in Striga, is also a fun, and relatively short, TF. Both of these have you fighting lots of Council. Hers is a similar level range to the Hess TF.

Here is Ernesto Hess TF info

Here is Moonfire TF info

And for something higher level, here is Eden Trial info. I haven't done this one yet, but it's supposed to be a real challenge, and real fun. And it has some of the best views/maps in the game. I'm looking forward to doing this one someday.

RE: Anyone up for a task force?

Yes Ernesto is 25-30, Katie in Croatoa is next 30-35. Ernesto is one of the more fun/fast TF"s, Katie I really like as well (I have both of these sitting on a toon along with Cavern on Triumph), plus you get the Witches Hat for completeing it =D

Posi is really long, if it's your first TF (excluding respecs) take it easy. If you happen to have a toon 35+ I would suggest the new TF in RWZ, I was pleased with it in terms of story, lenght and difficulty (it was relativly challenging on heroic)

Eden trial was easy, but boring....thats all I have to say about that one.

Cheers

RE: Anyone up for a task force?

Well... I just finished running the Positron Task Force with the SpecOps team on the Virtue server. a bit over 7 hours... wow. no wonder I never do these while I am at home.

We ended with a team of 5.

Thanks for letting me run with you all. My SpecOps toon wasn't high enough level so I used my level 13 controller. I joined the supergroup for the task force and accumulated about 13,000 prestige for the group.

I also went up 3 levels as well. I hit 16 during the last mission. Sweet time.

Are they all that long or just Positron?

No they aren't all that long, but just from my experiance they'll run 3-7 hours, shorter or longer depending on the team. The zone arcs are the shorter ones (Katie/Ernesto/RWZ), Posi is loooong, I recall Sister is long too.

RE: Anyone up for a task force?

I'm glad I wasn't a part of that one! Waaay too long, even though I ran the Statesman TF last night and I thought it was long too. Only took us 3 hours, but probably an hour+ on the last mission alone.

The key to having a short Posi TF is the team size. Ideally, you want anywhere from 1 to 4 people to run the task force. Once you start the TF with 5 people, the spawn size greatly increases and adds a significant amount of time to the TF.

I always try and do task forces with the minimum number of people and cut out as much as possible.

I also wanted to say that I have to back out of any TFs tonight, although you are probably sick of Posi now.

RE: Anyone up for a task force?

Not a problem. I would still run it again. I enjoyed it, except I am on a laptop and out of town so my load times are really ugly. I look forward to getting back to my home computer and faster online speed.

Although, last night someone suggested I type /reloadgfx. which did help a little bit.

What exactly does /reloadgfx do?

they said it clears all the zones you have been to.

When you visit each zone it leave a little bit of information in your memory about that zone. In the past when we had a lot of lag issues after releases that were labeled as "Memory leaks" this is what happens. What happens is a lot of data gets left behind from each zone or mission in your memory and eventually it starts having issues with hogging it all up.

The game still leaves bits and pieces of each zone in memory when it's running right, so the more zones you have gone to that evening for missions, the more bits and pieces are there. But when the game code is not working properly it leaves way more than it's supposed to.

The command does wipe the memory and just loads up the zone you are in. If you leave to a new zone, the process starts all over again.

When I was doing the Hami Raids. I would get there, park my toon, Shut down the game and reboot my system. Then when I log back in only that zone's graphic data would be loaded into my memory.

RE: Anyone up for a task force?

I asked this on gameamp channel, but wanted to get more opinions.

I tried to start a Task Force last night (Positron) to run it solo. I had 2 heroes join me and talked to Positron. He gave us a name and the first mission. So I told the 2 they could quit and that I appreciate the help. Suddenly the mission went away and the TF was disolved. RonJ and Bishop were saying this morning that they should be able to quit and have me still on the task force. But they wondered if I maybe had to start the first mission before the others could quit.

How do I run solo on a TF?

Do they have to log out but not quit, or can they quit (and when can they quit)?

Thanks for the assist.

If everyone else actually quits the TF, it will dissolve. What they need to do is join the TF, then log off without quitting.

Slight change. You have to have at least two people on the TF. You need 3 to start Posi. One can quit the TF and go on their merry way, but the second person must leave that toon on the TF and just log out or run it with you.

RE: Anyone up for a task force?

Alright, here's an update. Bigspeer and RonJ both joined my group and Task Force Quark was born. Thanks to both of you for assisting and volunteering to keep those guys active in the TF.

I have completed all but the last mission. I finished the 2 to last one this morning and didn't want to rush the last mission before work. I really haven't died too many times (I have easily kept the debt off being at level 16). and have made it through pretty quickly.

Question, if Big and RonJ were to run the last mission with me would they get the badge and reward at the end?

If so, would either of you need the badge or reward?

Yes, we would get the badge and reward.
I'd be willing to finish it with you. A hero could also use a rare recipe and the millions that they sell for (if it's a goodie).

RE: Anyone up for a task force?

Here is the final update. I logged on and found Big on as well. He logged back into his hero that he helped me start the TF with and did the last mission with me.

We finished and both came out with a badge and a rare recipe.

I received a Kismet level 15 Def/End/Rech.

I really enjoyed going through the Positron TF at my own speed and solo. I realize it takes a long time but I have enjoyed doing the Positron and am glad I can say it is finished.

Thanks to Big and RonJ for helping me start the TF and to Big for being there during the completion.
