On virtue the flavor of the month, or should I say MONTHS... has been Plant/Plant dom's. They're everywhere... and the worst part is.. they have NO cretivity. They're either covered in the plant costume or all green.
Any of you other servers notice this?
Gah! I was in a group last night with THREE of them! All head to toe in the plant pieces...

When I played I seen the same thing on Triumph. I have to admit I was guilty of having one myself. I made him the first day I played and after realizing how many were around, I never played Jolly Green Giant again.

There arent too many like that on Defiant, but there are too many thug masterminds, i seriously dont get why everyone is so obsessed with them, ive tried them, got them to 13 and pulled the plug, was a no go for me.

I just remade my 34 Thug MM as a Rad/Rad Corr..
I also see a TON of robot looking Elec/Elec Brutes..

I like the thugs cause there strong, ranged, and not annoying. (Robots, etc.)
I also chose them because it was a choice between Soldiers/thugs. I did soldiers allready so... badabing!

i also have seen ALOT of anime toons too, i was on triumpgh last nite and i saw about 15 anime and that was just on Mercy.....

It's not only Plant/Thorn Dominators.
Union is being infested by Ice/Cold Corruptors and Ice/Psi Dominators! Last night I teamed with FOUR of those Corruptors and THREE of those Dominators! They were all the same! Aaargh!

Thugs/dark is over used on defaint I've come to find, and quite probably elec/elec brutes to but as for anything else i haven't seen to much thats over used

We have to accept the simple fact that originality is not the most common attribute. How many Hulk clones did you see when the movie was released? How many ''Incredible'' ones when that movie showed ?
One I see way to often on all servers, both in CoH and CoV, is the Punisher/matrix toon ALL dressed the same : long black trenchcoat and dark glasses, too many of them with the soooo predictable rifle assault set. Even inthe movies it looked lame to see so many clones of Neo. Even as a team concept (were a similar look makes sense and good effect)that one is now particularly cliche.
I myself made a Plant character. 2 in fact. yes they are plantmen, but I am sure you would recognize them instantly among any crowd of walking vegetables.
One is on CoH (The Pine, scrapper Spine/regen) a reverse devouring Earth mutation (plant to human instead of the usual opposite): extremely tall and thin with brown/bark skin (stone armor) dark green leaves, a wood-sculpted face (made from the insect head)and all the spines details available on his body.
The other on CoV is his evil twin brother (Blackthorne, dominator plant control/thorny assault) who basically looks the same but is much darker (black with dark brown leaves), has a bark face made like his body (stone armor), less spiny but covered with barbwire.
I also made a MM with thugs. This toon also you will rarely see cloned atm at least. If you meet my MM, you will meet Miss Triss O'Gress, a 6 '6'' gun wielding white-haired female biker with a black leather motorcycle vest, a skull metal-belted blue miniskirt and high-heeled chaps. Not that much original, yet, I bet there are not that many like her on any server.
It doesn't take that much to stand out in the crowd, especially with the exceptional character creation engine of this game. having a clear concept of the character and avoiding simply copying your favorite one is one way to do it. And one of the (many) things that are fun in this game is to see what ideas people came up with.
or at least try like me.

I have a pic of my guy, I like his costume alot. Haven't seen anything real close yet, and I get lots of compliments on it.
Hes only 14 atm so im still gettin some more thugs. (Dontcha just love my AWESOME Graphix?!)

I hear ya, I think that robots is the most played MM. I know that on my server I see a crapload. I don't see alot of ninjas, probly even less zombies. Cookiez to those pholks. (Btw I saw Teenage Kids ninja toon, and Ninjas are so damn cool looking when fully upgraded)

I have a Thugs Mastermind also, and fortunately I haven't seen anybody come THAT close to cloning him yet.
Not sure how original he really is, but I messed around until I found something I liked and used it :P
And yea, Robots are definately the most common Mastermind. I haven't really seen to many plant people, only one in the last week or so.

On Virtue i don't believe it --scoffs-- why would you say something like this j/k'ing
maybe they are trying to give all the Catgirl Scrappers on virtue a place to hide in. that seems to be the common costume on Heroes.
Usually on any given night i can hit up the Atlas Statue and there are a good 15-20 "Catgirl *something*" hanging out. and the best part is on different nights they are all different toons I think i have only seen the same Catgirl toon like once on last wednsday and once on friday. other than that all diff names same concept and costumes just diff colors Virtue - Unoriginality Central

Cool I like yours, havent seen anything real like that either. I've only seen like 2 plant people and they didnt even have the vine stuff, just a green'ish' costume.
On pinnacle I would have to say robot masterminds are definatley most common. Glad I went thugs.

Lol, do that on guardian, home of the legion of catgirls, its so frickin annoying. But they are still nice people :)

Any heroes that have a longbow themed costume are ALWAYS my no.1 targets in PvP reguardless, just does my nut in :P

i saw last nite the Confused Longbow on St Martail, it was a girl and it had everything like a longbow the hair the colors the outfit everything, when i saw it i was gonna kill it but it was someone lmfao
