the number 666 means perfect imperfection. thats why it has been associated with the devil and was used to describe the devil.
just thought i'd put that out there for those who didnt know the true meaning or reason behind the number.

666 is the number of the "Beast." The word devil wasn't used in that reference as I recall. Anyway, 666 may be the number of good ol' Luci, but it will not be the sybol of the anti-christ. Hos will be less noticable by the masses, a simple tatoo on the hand or forehead, but not recognizable as evil at first. It will likely be something like a cross or a even a barcode... basically, anything and everything is more likely than the number 666... I'm just saying.

6 would be the upside down of 9 right?!
And since 9 would be considered the Holy Number of the (Catholic) Church, 6 would suite 'Evil' rather well.

I seem to remember reading that the number was seen as a reflection in water so should actually be 999...but I can't remember where I picked that up.

Not a reflection in water ;p
Nostradamus (think it was him) saw in his dreams the number of the beast and wrote it down is being '666'
Fact is that in dreams images, words and numbers appear mirrored and backwards. That make a 6 a true 9
The apocalypse has to do with the number of the beast (lots of legends about that; about the return of the devil on earth). The fact that the number 6 is a true 9 explains why millennia new years eves (like 1999) are concidered unholy moments and therefore a moment where the devil can return.
However since Notradamus; the devil is not the devil ass religion knows it; it is seen as the number of the anticrist.
Think it was something like that :) Could be wrong; but this is how i remember it ^^

the number 666 is also used to mean the devil becuase the number of god is 777 so it used to show that the devil is below god.

Well all im saying is its just a number, im getting '666' tatooed on the back of my neck with the design of the little boy in the Omen, just to see people reactions. And it was proven just a number, because the world was supposed to 'end' on 6/6/06 i dont think it did :/
