This might sound silly but...teleportion, yay or nay?

I'm honestly completely unsure as to whether or not I want this travel power. It's been bothering me for a while now, and while I can easily see how it could be useful for completely bypassing obstacles, it's also very hard to accurately control isn't it?

Flight may be slow, but you can go anywhere easily, and it's not like I'm generally in some huge rush to get somewhere. On the other hand, I've heard that teleportation is the best travel power for Masterminds (why I'm not really sure, since it's not like your pets are generally summoned as you travel from mission to mission anyway).

Super Speed and Jump I was never very fond of, so those I can ignore. It just seems like Flight vs Teleportation is something that gets under my skin. Is teleportation really all that great with the lack of ability to shorten the distance you jump? I do take hover with it so it's not like I don't have time to look around (and Recall Friend is very useful in more situations that I can count honestly).

Dunno. Thanks in advance for any help :)

Group Flight/Group TP would be good if your gonna go PvP spec.

And just TP as a travel power, its pretty annoying imo. You have to click really fast and aim very quuckly. Gets old/annoying fast.

For masterminds Flight or Super Jump are the two best choices. The only AT that I can think of that should take TP is Stone Brutes since they cant jump or well move very fast with all there armor on and rooted.

Depending on what type of MM you are I would recommend Flight with Hover. It gives you the ability to view the whole battlefield from a birds eye perspective. I would skip TP completely being an MM.

Depending on what AT your toon is, TP may help. A Ninja, Thug or possibly zombie MM may benefit from group TP, since you bring your whole squad into melee in one shot. This is especially nice if you have some traps to lay down as well.

And when I'm on my tank, scrapper or dominator who all have TP for their travel power, I put the icon in an out of the way slot, and go into options and set it to my ` key (next to the one). It lets me take more time to click where I'm going, and que up the next TP just as I'm "zoning" into where I warped. It helps greatly reduce me falling and taking unnecessary dmg.

Group TP only works if there already next to ya plus its a major endurance drain. But in the end it does come down to personal prefferance.

RE: This might sound silly but...teleportion, yay or nay?

Thanks for tall the advice.

Is Recall Friend still a good power to have even if I take flight? Minions have this bad habit of getting stuck sometimes, although I haven't noticed it as of late. I was hoping if I got flight I would be able to free up one power slot (since I always get hover with teleport to make sure I can't crash into the ground and get mobbed).

Also, can you use it to teleport escorts/prisoners in missions who have a VERY bad habit of getting stuck? Especialy in caves, I've noticed they can get themselves lodged between two pipes sometimes and they can't get out. Never had recall friend before so I have no idea if it works.

Well, while recall is good for gets minions and friends unstuck, its usually a gamble if it works on NPCs you have to escort. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I think it only works on "pet" npcs you get in missions, not hostages. But of course I may be wrong.
If a minion gets stuck, I just dismiss and re-summon the minion.

RE: This might sound silly but...teleportion, yay or nay?

Makes sense. Hmm...considering if I remove Teleport/Recall Friend, would this be a good modified build? I still don't like getting maneuvers at level 49, but honestly I can't see any power worth moving ahead in level to get it earlier. Maneuvers is nice, but not THAT nice :P

Stone Tanks/Brutes with Grantie Armour really can use TP. Since Granite Armour is beyond slow (so slow that I actually slot swift) Teleportation is very useful for jumping from crowd to crowd

Just remember TP might be known as faster, but its certainly alot more demanding on end and attention. Quite a few people say that you really need hover to go with it to effectivly transport yourself from here to there outside of missions.

But hell i hate tp so i duno, go with what the guys say

I've tried tp without hover and I have no trouble. It's not that bad on end if you use it as a TRAVEL power. Just for moving around, if you go far and then try to fight you may have some trouble. My biggest problem with it is no auto-run.

I say get it and 3 slot it with range enhancements, but that's just me.

personally, i love teleport, especially if you have dark miasma, and especially especially if you have pets/minions. the end cost is managable if you put an end redux in it. The reason it helps with dark miasma is if you have Howling Twilight (the mass rez), you can team tp around collecting dead teammates. you can also do surprise attack by tping your whole throng of minions into a group.

RE: This might sound silly but...teleportion, yay or nay?

Yea, I've always had TP when using Dark Miasma, but I'm using Thug/Poison at the moment. Hence why I wasn't so sure its as useful. I don't really want to be teleporting my ranged squishies into melee as a general rule :P

[edit] And now I've hit 14, so I have to decide I guess. Respec out of Teleport and get Fly or not to...so far TP without Hover is a pain in the butt if you have to move your screen to correct anything. Just not sure =/ Both are nice.
