fear and hold 

what is the difference between fear and hold .. does both does the same thing ( hold the target ) ? fear i can still attack like the hold effect ... so i dont see much difference

newbie question i think :(

That is the main difference between Fear and Hold. Hold HOLDS the enemy in place and they can;t do anything about it. Fear however, does root them where they stand BUT should they be attacked enough, they'll get some nerve together and either fight a little or run, till the Fear kicks back in and stops them again (if its still on them of course.)

Hold just holds plain and simple as Bold said. Fear is a useful power though because it lasts longer (generally) then a hold and can match a sleep powers 'hold' duration.

But yeah feared oponents will have 3 seconds of hold freedom when attacked and will likely attack back, though sometimes they just run for a somewhat shortlived amount of time. All i say is beware the AoE's
