hey,my pc is in a repair shop atm,(it was the fan,thanks all who helped:))
but now im wondering should i get my ram currently at 512 to 2gigs?
as in are the others a bit outdated, i'd like this to last a good while.
the other specs are:
3.4GHz intel pebtium processor 550 with HT technology
GeForce 6610XLm128mb DDR3 Memory at 800MHz
512 RAM, DDR 400MHz 64 bit duel channel memory.
and the make and model is Medion MD8383 XL

well i would go with the ram upgrade for sure. As for the video card you might want to upgrade to one with more memory, for guild wars im sure it works fine, but if you want this to be a gaming computer in the future you will need more.

what should it be upgradded to?

Do you have AGP or PCIe? I would go for 512MB on the video and do the 2GB RAM upgrade. You'll feel like you have a new PC.

retro is right, 512 is the way to go. It basically assures that the only lag will NOT be due to graphics, itll be able to run on high without graphic lag, only internet or server problems. Nvidia has good cards but i think the ATI's cards are more reliable and last longer without getting worse. Also, you will find a lot better video cards for PCI-e(express) then you will for PCI or even AGP. Hope this helped. Oh, and yes, upgrading from 512mb of ram to say 1Gb or 1.5gb or even 2gb would really help too.
