i hate hall of monuments

i think a-net should make it different
cause i put my mini pets in it
(i was happy)
but they are custonized
for only the char i used so i can use them on other chars :'(
i really hate it
and won't use it anymore
they should customise it for all char of a account and not just 1char

mini pets customised are varesh, asura, grey giant, hydra, turtle, gwen, pig, jade armour, temple gardian, necrid horseman
i think it's all

why isn't the HoM account based?

what do you think about it
and if i put my armour in there can i still use it?

You can still use your armor, well at least I am using mine.

As for the HoM, didn't you sorta realize if after you customized like 2 minis, instead of finding out after you did all of them, lol.

But I agree with you, it should be account based.

At 1st, I thought it should be account based. But once your in there. You kinds want one of those for each of your characters. Plus the HoM is kinda a central point in the story line with the Scrying Pool and all that.

i must agree that i am disappointed with the Hsll. I have 8 characters so far in GW, and for the achievements to be character based, surely when GW2 comes out i will only have access to unlockable goodies if i use a GW2 character with the same name, which i didnt want to be forced to do, whereas if it had been account based it wouldnt have been an issue.

I agree with the hall not being all that great.

I put 32 in there. The customization doesn't bother me as much as the fact that it does not show them all on the platform. It says I can rearrange them but I can not show the ones I want. Plus I still have to have extra characters just to store them so It's kinda pointless.

The only way you can display your heroes is if they have upgraded armor apparently. Some of which looks worse than what they start with. Besides that my main character is a Ranger. I would prefer my companion shrine to show pets that I have captured. I want the Eagle really bad but getting rid of my UW Spider isnt worth it.

Weapons one are just for ones unlocked in GWEN. So all the stuff I have collected up to now does no good.

The Armor one shows a cookie cutter character with the armor. If I pay 60k for armor plus another 50k for black dye, runes, and insignia's I want my character to be the one shown wearing it.

As far as the last one I will never get. You have to be rank 9 in pvp in order just to use it. And since I don't pvp I do not see a use for it. I have over a dozen titles and none of them are displayed because I don't pvp. Another pointless piece of the hall.

Also if they are going to make it a personal area give me a persoanl storage box to store all this crap that one character has to have in order to show it off.

Flute [+1 Energy/Offhand]

Gwen doesnt want them! She should take this crap that I've been holding for 2 years and give me something cool.

what sucks even harder is that it seems to be that you can only put very high max pvp titles.. gladiator only if you're 9, champion only if you're 12, etc.

unless i've read it wrong(which i doubt) is the dumbest piece of crap anet ever done... SERIOUSLY who is rank 12, rank 9 glad, rank 12 champ etc? like mebe a few people out of millions? GG

I agree with this, I added my nice Glads & Platemail and what do I get?!? Dragon armour which I hate.

I have hope yet that ANet will take this feedback from the preview ad make some changes tho, how hard can it be to let us choose something purely aesthetic?

when i clicked for putting my mini there i didn't read
so i only know it was customised after it but what ever i just buy new onesXD
the only one i'm mad at is gwen mini pet
i always using her on my mesmer
but it's customised for my para :(
so i'll use an other pet for me mesmer XD

and i'll put my fow armour and primevall armour in the hall
(both of my para because i didn't like the fow i bought the primeval oneXD)

if you're holding the Tapestry shred when u talk to her in the Hall, she says something about not believing you have held onto it for so many years, but now is not the time. The other items i believe u are supposed to give to her in Pre'Searing in order to obtain the Tapestry Shred. Hoping that after the storyline is completed, she will swap it for something coool.

And to get back to topic, some of the HoM features do really suck. I can quite understand the others, but the title thing is weird, as I have played this game since it came out, and have done almost no PvP, so I have no PvP titles of any kind.

Hello,

One of the reasons why it won't be account customized is probably because of the different races we're going to be able to choose from, they may not all be friendly to each other, you won't even probably be able to pass items to your characters of different races. Also that could be another hint that the level cap will be raised significantly, when you think about it, in GW it's so easy to manage and reach max level with multiple characters at the same time, but maybe in GW2 the level cap will be much higher and will be much more challenging that you will mostly likely focus on one character at a time and most likely have one main character. Anyways just my opinion.

I was very disappointed when I found out that the HoM was character based (another thread here).

But now that I see that no titles except KoaBD and high PvP ones are even shown, I don't even care.

I'm not adding mini-pets to my Halls because I don't care to customize them. Not because I want to sell them, but sometimes I want to switch them around between characters.

Heroes are okay, but I am not going to farm the challenge missions again for all my characters. I did that for my monk and I don't care to do it again.

I can't say much about the Weapons monument, as nothing I've gained so far can be used in it. I tried the Bison Cup and the Thunderfist's Knuckles, can't add them. Must be other items later in the game?

Only Monument I've been able to use is the Armor, and none of the sets displayed even shows my class, hehe.

*shrug*

It's a very pretty place though, nice and quiet with soft lighting :-P

The hall is a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

Only pvp titles? Thats pull for us pve players.
Mini-pets.. I am not as mad but this is still upsetting when you have 10 CHARACTERS.
Hero -.. Oh come on. The only upgraded armor I like is koss's first upgrade. Why can't I put the rest in there because the other upgrades suck?

As of where it stands right now I will not add anything to my hall. This is starting to turn me off Guild Wars 2. Really starting to make me upset and not even get Eyes of the North.

i added my primeval para armour to my hall
what do i see
somekind of warrior armour (don't have W so i don't know what armour it is)
again very very dissapointed
and i won't put anything else in my hall
i have only friends of the luxon title
it's my only pvp
cuase i care less of pvp
pve FTW XD

The Hall of Monuments is supposed to be great, but instead so many things go wrong, customized minipets for just one character, while i got 9, so i switch my Bone Dragon between them!

Armors totally appear wrong as i've heard, shunning me from even trying it out.

Titles are just PvP, i stepped out of the PvP scene after a while cause it just wasn't my cup of tea plus its too dang hard to find any organized group around, let alone someone friendly to teach.

I can go on for Ages, but they did a bad job at it, especially in regards of the minipets, they know many of us got several characters, they cant expect us to forever stick with one right? Make it account based, not whopping Character for the sake of everything :*(

Well, spose I could offer my opinions on this topic. Quick question, tried to figure it out....what is the HoM? From what I know, it seems completely useless and non-existent. I have not seen a point in having it what-so-ever. That leads me to this. Ever since they started making new campaigns after Proph. I wanted A-net to make a new game. They should make GW2 a different game not having any relation or corralation to GW1 and it's dumb expansions. If they wanted that, be like Everquest and make 15 damn expansions.

I highly regret playing Factions, won't buy NF or GWEN. Proph was the best PvE GW had. GW2 needs to be different and more towards the concept of Proph. Hench need to be removed from mish, only used in explorable...Heroes need removed completely. GW has completely turned into a 1 player game pretty much. The only thing I do, is run with guildies and alliance like once every day in Deep, and I do PvP with GvG and RA.

Do not take this preview to heart. I've heard alot of upsetting comments about it, why say anything about a preview about a game that comes out in like 5 days. Seems kinda silly.

In my terms however. GW1 is dead. GW2, they better make some progress AKA not shit out a game in 6 months...when the original took years...it's like all this crap game developers that shit stuff out so fast and don't make it high quality (like movie based games).

That was probably my first rant on this site. But, have fun with your GW property and GW:EN, hope it doesn't disappoint alot of you. Actually seems like a good idea to make it more player based.

Agree, we are all laboratory rats in this, and we discover bugs by the dozen, but that gives us no right NOT to complain.

The preview has some serious flaws, including the usage of the ''overhyped'' Hall of Monuments, it just seems so utterly stupid now.

IT is your choice not to play Nightfall, or Eye of the North, but your voice has little to say unless you also experienced the flaws in the preview, keep that in mind.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I LOVE everything else thus far in the preview!

The scenery is absolutely GORGEOUS....the mini-games are fun and addictive and challenging (Mhenlo 55 FTW!)....the dungeons are exactly the dungeon crawls I'd been hoping for (length of time, rewards, etc)....the storyline so far is interesting and fresh.

The Destroyers make SF eles look like noobs.

Only thing I'm "eh" about is the HoM. I don't hate it, but I don't really care about it now either.

RANK 9!??! Wow, that is just ridiculous. I haven't been able to get my hands on a credit card for the pre-event pre-order, so I won't be able to see the HoM, but from what I've heard, it seems like ANet screwed up big time.

Let me get this straight, you have to be Rank 9 in order to access the HoM title section? If so, all my title hunting has been for naught. :(

After seeing so much there is to enjoy in GW:EN its kinda dissapointing that here on amp the thread getting the attention is the negative one :( .../sigh

I have to agree with some of this though, it is a dissapointment at this point in time (remember though Anet tends to listen when alot of the fanbase doesnt like something).

My understanding of the hall of monuments is that it will give your character in GW2 a certain edge, nobody knows what that is going to be....it will be based on your achievemnts in GW, we do know that, thats why the hall is there, to record them.

Mini Pets - don't want to customise them ? simple solution, wait until GW2 is out before adding them when you know what added bonus that gives. I see the sense of them being character based, the reward will be for 1 character in GW2. I'm waiting until GW2 before I add mine.

Armors : They have to improve the representation, none of us like seeing the wrong armor after we worked to get those elite armor sets, if Anet want us to feel that HoM is 'special to us' this is one of the big steps they need to change to make it so.

Heroes: Unlocking heroes is a relatively easy process and is usually just part and parcel of following the story line, there really isn't much special about them unless they have recieved a bit more love and attention, farming the armor pieces is fun and something you can do next time your bored, HoM is supposed to represent achievement and effort, put a little effort into your heroes.

Lighting: Its way too dim, put a nice glow above the heroes, minipets, armors etc so we can see them properly, its very poorly light on the podiums, I'm sure the designers can do it and still keep that nice relaxed feel in there.

I can't comment on other aspects of the hall, Iv'e focused on all the amazing scenery, storyline and gameplay this sneak peak has to offer : I'll post a very long topic about all the great things of GW:EN later, it rocked my socks off :)

Well Not all of us like the upgraded armor parts of heros. I go on how armor looks not because it is expensive or upgraded.

the way anet has halls.. it is based on people who have millions in gold to spend. Achievements is one thing.. disregard for hard working players who can't do everything is shameful.

I agree with you there ^^ an option to change your heroes armor between the sets you have gained for them and the starting set would be nice, but I still think adding them when no real effort has been put into their acquisition (mostly) doesnt qualify them as an achievement.

It was always supposed to be a place to reflect your commitment and time spent in the game and not something for the more casual player, apologies to you casual players but the idea of it always was to reward commitment to GW, thats why alot of people arent gonna get much out of it.
