Placate?

Ok ive got a question. I just hit 16 and i got Placate. The last stalker i had i got Placate at 16 also, but i think i was uesing it wrong because it never seemed to be helpfull. It was me im sure. With Placate how do u use it. Do u hit enemy with Assassins power then use Placate on one of the other minions or is there another way to use it. If this is the case is it even worth getting in the first place.

In my experience its either to just get a quick/easy critical when in the midst of battle, or to finish off that last baddie with an AS. I'm sure there are plenty of other ways people use their AS, but thats just my 2 Inf on it.

the way i do it is, go to the end of the mission kill the minion first then click the boss placte him make sure no one else is around it only works on one person, build up then AS then placate then do it again, i have a lvl 44 stalker and i love doing those 3 moves...

1. Placate will make you invisible to one enemy for a short time. If you're fighting one enemy, then you can use build up, Assassin's Strike, hit him a couple more times until build up runs out and then hit placate. You will go invisible for him (and him alone) and can then use a second Assassin's Strike. Or you could back out of the fight and wait until all your powers are up again, then go back in and hit him again. And again. And again. It's an easy way (though slow) to bring a big boss down.

2. If you're fighting against two mobs and you placate one, the other will continue attacking you and prevent you stealthing away or AS'ing again. As mentioned above, you should try and take out the easiest target with your first strike and then you're back into a one-mob fight.

3. Against a bunch of mobs, I like to always try and take out the minions first so that you can get back to a one-mob fight, but sometimes the boss is really annoying and you can't just ignore him - in this case, placating him will take him out of the fight for a little while (maybe 10 seconds?), but he'll then come piling back in and you'll have to scrap with him. I don't think that 10 second breather is worth it myself - I can't scrap with a boss without popping a load of pills, so I always try to keep placate until it's just him and me. Then we're back into the easy 1 on 1 strategy.

Finally, this is assuming you're stalking alone. If you're within a group then you can use placate when only one mob is focused on you. So long as nothing else is hitting you then you'll be able to stealth and AS. Oh, just be aware that when you use placate, that mob will then start hitting the next person on his hate list - if you happen to be the only tank (god forbid), you might just push the mob onto someone even squishier.

In short, placate is awesome. I find that it doubles up my stalker's killing power, lets him handle groups, tackle the biggest mobs, and so long as you can reduce the fight to a one on one, you can always escape from a brawl gone bad.

Placate is useful in soo many different situations,
Build Up,As,Placate,(2nd strongest attack)-that usually leaves a big chunk of damage, or placate to escape, or in my case at this level i can Bu, As, Placate, Impale = a dead ltnt and minion leaving 1 minion left killing him easy.
a boss it usually is almost dead either way its a MUST HAVE power , throw me a pm at Epsilon Assassin on triumph :) ill be happy to show ya :)

If you can slug it out with minions like my Ninja/Ninja there is another use for Placate.

When fighting a boss, with minions, that I know I can not one shot with AS. I AS the first minion, placate the boss and high tail it out of the area. The rest of the mobs will follow and the boss will stay. Finish them off and come back to the boss at your leasure.
