I saw it nice and clear from Australia (Victoria). Bit cloudy at first, but cleared up in the end. Not Red red, but a reddish orange I'd say.
Still a bit eerie though.
Siggy gone on a little holiday. He promised to return when I thought of something witty.

Where do you see anything that says "West Coast only"? It even shows in your diagram there that it is visible on the east coast, just optimum viewing is on the west coast. So nobody is lying

Everybody on earth who was in an area that was at night during the partial or total lunar eclipse would have been able to see it. The umbra of the earth is on the moon, it doesn't matter where you see it from. Maybe the OP was thinking of a solar eclipse when he said it was visible on the west coast- solar eclipses are only visible in very small paths.

I managed to get a great view of the "Red" Moon here on Guam! Couldn't make it out at first but once the winds picked up and took some of the cloud cover away I had an unobstructed view of the eclipse :D Great stuff!!

its because im normally from New York.
My mom thought it was amazing, and she called my relatives down in New York. We told them to go outside 4-5 in the morning just to let them see it, and my uncle was pissed because he said, the suns barely comin up and the suns just, kinda ORANGISH* but not that seeable.

i got it
idk i just have a thing
where i have to clear out people.
becuz if i dont, i feel like im stupid,
but i know for a fact, im not
just OCDius.
from where i am, Visible at night, yours, visible at dawn.
dawn starts at 6:40 am in east. i know because i used to go to school in east coast in new york and i always had to wake up at 6 and it was still dark and its only been 4 months since i moved.
anyways, from where it says, visible at dawn, i drew a line
of where it would show for people at dawn, you are in the yellow line but you posted at 5:44 am. i know its not dawn there yet.
but i did also mention, when you saw the moon, you prolly saw just barely barely barely a little shade of orangish, just like what my uncle said.
sorry for this, just really got a thing when people make me look stupid and i know for a fact im not.
=D

Nope, I live in Florida.
The peak of the eclipse was at 5:52 am.
Trust me it was very dark outside, and the moon was red. I had to have a flashlight to watch my dogs for their morning constitution.
Please, just don't jump to conclusions.
Just look at my Profile and you could see where I am from.
Don't ASS U ME anything!!!!!!!!

No offense, but that statement really makes no sense.
What if your uncle seen the moon with partial clouds or dense fog in the air, that can turn colours and visibility very different, doesn't immediatly mean anyone living further then that totally doesn't see it, your jumping to conclusions prematurely, as the map itself shows.
And no, i never saw it, i did see a solar eclipse ^^
