why is this game so hard?

I give up. missions are too hard, cant do many of them with heroes and henchies. cant find a real ppl team worth spit.

why don't u join a guild. U can always find friendly ppl willing to do something with u in a guild. which missions are u having trouble with to?

Second, thats very negative. What parts of the game are you having troube with? There are many guides out there for a lot of missions both on Gameamp and also on the numerous other GW fansites and Wiki's.

I 2th and oppose that.
I too have once faced GW like "wtf! no way this is normal mode?!" and then it's sometimes better to rant a minute or 2 because in the end you'll feel more reliefed.
But on the other hand their are allway's people, like you or me or 90% of GameAmp, who will be their to offer a helping hand.

This game is not hard at all. Just need some time to get use to the gameplay. Now that you have heroes, missions are cake. Just keep trying. Back then we only have hench and couldn't even flag them. Trust me, getting rich might be hard but beating the game is very easy. Took me 2 weeks to beat proph when I first play and 2 days to beat Factions and NF when they first came out. Hang in there.

No ideas what this means... Is my connection good or bad?

I feel ya brah. There are some missions in which I still think "This is retarded..." Luckily this is an mmorpg. So there are tons of helpful people. Unfortunately they are hard to find in game without a guild. You should join a really active guild. They can teach you a lot and help you in missions. I am in the AMP guild and they are pretty much always active. Iv'e hopped on at 4 in the morning and 30 people have been on. I highly suggest them.

Another note: did you come out of pre-searing too soon? If its your first character, its easier to stay in pre until level 6 or 7, then start the post-searing fun.

What profession did you choose for primary and secondary?

Anyway I am assuming he is talking about nightfall because of heroes but I could be wrong. I think some folks here would be more than willing to make suggestions if you give us some specifics.

What missions? What is your profession and build? What are your heroes and their builds?

How about some more info and we can go from there :-)

The game is much easier once you get more information and tips from friendly veteran players :-)

it isn't hard but it sure tries your patience sometimes

you are definetly right about 1 thing, it is getting harder and harder to go into a mission town specially in factions and sometimes nightfall and see actual people there... 4 million accounts... where are they?

Again, why not post some specifics? We might be able to make some helpful suggestions if you let us know what exact points you are having trouble with and what skills you and your heroes are using.

when missions are too hard for me, i say: STUPID GAME WTF HAXXOR!!@!!J'!!!
then i quit for 2 days with GW, and then i'm getting bored and i say: 'OmFg i want to play GW again'
so i get back on, retry the mission, getting the mission ^^
then i'm sooooooooo happy :D

I find the best way to actually win at PvE is to just do this:

Step one, equip heroes:
MM
Prot Monk with Leech Sig and Power Drain
SS/Wards necro

Step two, equip henchies:
Healer
Prot
Fire Ele
Mesmer

Step three:
Enter Mission

Step Four:
Aggro everything without even bothering to pull and let the henchies own everything in sight. Oh and randomly spam skills. Especially Frenzy.

Step Five:
Pick up phat loot

I got a couple tips

-avoid as many fights as possible, y risk getting dp for xp for a level 20 char?

-use the enviroment dealt, a war staying at a corner helps stopping melee enemies to getting to ur casters, the higher u are the further ur arrows shoot and the shorter then enemies shoot

-missions that deal with a hard area like shiro shud make u plan accordingly(pretty easy) shiro deals in hitting alot of enemies at once, anti melee is very useful ^^, and anti spellcasting is useful for strong spellcaster

-keep the numbers in ur favor, the less the easier simple. pull the lich so shiro doesnt get in the way then he's much easier

-time ur assault carefully, assassins deal great damage but r very fragile, have stay at the back until aggro is given to other targets then run in for the kill

-spend sum time combining builds, alot of time a build can be twice as effective if ya had a third profession, but u can only have 2. try to play of other skills party members can add, ask them to put a certain enchant on u, or use a certain hex on an enemy

I remember getting to Viz Square as Factions went live. Me, a guildy & a bucket load of hench only to find ourselves dead very quickly! That was a big WTF?!? moment until we discovered how the mission worked and how to beat it.

Remember when THK was hard? It's just a matter of getting to know the missions. Unfortunately I doubt this will happen for the Gate missions in NF since they are no way as replayable as Proph missions.

Lol; to talk in óld-school' talk (dont take offense of this; its what they were used be called)

n00b filters per chapter:
- Thunderhead keep
- Gayla Hatchery/Eternal grove
- Ruins of Morah and Gate of Madness.

Of course they are not true 'n00b'-filters; those are mission that require true teamplay, some tactical thinking and balance. People who rushed and didnt think about anything but killing ended up ruining the team.

As for Gate of Madness; theres a few things that will make the whole mission a lot easier and you will make it hencheable.

- wild blow. It breaks shiro's stances and will negate a lot of damage
- Spoil Victor. It can be done without and ss instead; but with blood set to 16; shiro takes 105 damage every time he hits something
- Blinding. Negates a lot of damage. Mind that bosses (so also the lich and shiro) have 50% shorter duration of negative effects
- Shield up! Negates a lot of the lich's damage.

I dont know what profession you are playing; but if you can implement thee things in your hero/hench build it will be very easy to finish it.

Oooo GoM is the Shiro one....I always get GoM & GoP confused.

Here's a build that works:

Depending on your class swap with one of the heros/hench. I'm not sure how well Koss or Meloni use Wild Blow tho :/

-btw... My 4% MB vs the heros 10% is because I ran into a mob without unflagging them otherwise it would have been a perfect run with zero friendly deaths.

Forgive me for saying this...but Dude! You've just made it through like 9/10 of the game! And now you're essentially in what would be considered Hell in the GW universe full of super demons!

If I could just trounce through the Realm of Torment with no issues, I'd probably never buy another GW game again...

My fiance and I spent hours finding a good PuG for some of those zones. (We don't like to hench) But once we did, victory over that area was even more satisfying. (Thank you Keo :-p)

Enjoy the game, mix it up a bit...do some PuG groups with some heroes in there. Read up in here (AMP has some awesome help articles and guides.), and see if there's anything you're not doing...or try something unorthodox.

But most of all, enjoy the challenge...because as soon as you beat it, you've got Abaddon...and he's not a very big challenge.

This game really blows chunks. I just spent another 2 hours trying to cap Onslaught for my dervish using heros and hench. No can do. My chars are only level 20 and I have to push through several mobs of higher level monsters (about level 28). I don't want an easy game and I don't want a HARD GAME. The hero and hench AI is SO STUPID. Complete idiots.

HARD GAMES ARE NOT FUN.

The damm game is just too hard and unbalanced. Poorly designed missions, outrageous monster levels, maps with built-in penalties make the difficult to become impossible.

I'll never finish this stupid game bah!

How long have you been playing? It takes several MONTHS to be able to understand the game and work your way through alone. It takes longer to master the game.

This is not something you can "just do". This is thinking, learning and trying. And when all that failes, there's always gameamp, and they have guides and tips for EVERY sinel area and/or mission. Sometimes you just have to think a little different to make it through.

Just cool down a bit, and relax, because this game is not too hard...

Some people would say that it's the hard things that make this game fun. Frankly, I don't want to do Great Northern Wall for every single mission. Onslaught is a difficult cap indeed, but it shouldn't take you 2 hours. You can avoid every single group getting to the boss, and once you get there, you ought to be able to kill at least one monster before getting wiped. Make sure you call targets so your hench all attack the same thing, and flagging them apart so they don't all get hit with AoE would be a good idea too. There is a res shrine right there, so you can keep coming back and killing one monster before a wipe, or as many as you can before a wipe, then just repeat until just the boss is dead. Boss isn't that tough by himself, as long as you flag heroes and hench apart so he doesn't ever hit three guys at once.

Edit: And I have to agree with Rogue, the heroes and hench are actually very good at this game, significantly better than most real people, provided you know how to equip and control them. With my usual team build we can usually take out some very large groups with minimal deaths. I usually have 2 SF nuker heroes, a prot monk hero, another ele hench, two monk hench, and an interrupter hench.

Proper planning - which I don't think your doing.

Onslaught = Enchant on a melee char; so bring a hero that has enchant removal and anti-melee skills, a perfect thing would be a Necro with Insidious Parasite and Corrupt Enchant.

Equip a hero with them 2 skills(and add whatever else you want, maybe interupts).

And take group 1 at a time, and always go for the casters in the groups.

Also if memory serves me theres "Arm of insanitys" around that area who have a bad habit of duplicating themselves while under cover from Stances.. so what do you do? you take a Warrior Hero with "Wild Blow".

Anyway what is your characters Profession? are you a ranger/monk/necro/ele etc.... and what skills are you using, tell us all these and you'll get alot better help.

Ps: That necro build is brilliant :)

I got Protector Title on all 3 continents on my Monk using entirely heroes and hench, as I mainly play pvp my friends aren't interested in PvE as much. It just takes a little patience, and if you can't get through a mission then make sure to check the wiki page for that mission/quest/skill, or have a search here on the forums, guides, tips sections. Tons of players have done this before, and many have written down helpful tips for everything.

With hench, patience is key, in my opinion. I like them because I can go as slow as I like, go afk half way through a (non-timed) mission etc without hindering anyone. Just try not to pull too much, and try to work out a team build that is suitable to the area you're heading into.

I absolutely disagree about the hero/hench. THEY ARE AS DUMB AS A ROCK.

I am tired of paying for runs after failing missions dozens of times.
