I decided to take a look at wiki again and see if they had updated any of the armors and they did, and i'm very annoyed with what i've seen, reskinned armor is worth it to me imo, the mesmer vanguard is just reskinned fow skirt and the rest is rouges, and the female war is reskined luxon and knights :'( and the dwarven armor, just reskined crap too. Anyone else really upset with the decisions ANet has made for armor in GW:EN?

Yes agreed poor job on most armors, just reskins we could have done ourselves with texmod :@

wow vanguard male war looks like reskind 1.5k luxon pants mixed with a sorta sunspearish primeval look and a reskind 15k templar helmish....i was thinkin about getting it but now i dont know now : (

Yes, and that is already shown by no new classes, no starter area, much smaller game, a lot less skills, shall I go on?
An expansion is not an excuse to reskin armor. Look at Diablo 2, its expansion gave new gameplay area's, new weapons, new armor(that was not just reskinned), etc.
I think Anet could have done better on at least the armor.....
Male warrior Asuran armor.....10k per peice and all it is, is reskinned 15k kurzick armor.
What your paying that 10k for is for someone decent with graphics, to spend an hour or two with texmod to reskin your kurzick armor.

Sorry...I have to disagree with some of the stuff said here...18 dungeons to explore...plus surface towns...it's not much smaller than factions.
We still get some new skills...some new areas to play in...more storyline...and yeah...they reskinned the armour...so what? If you don't like it...don't buy it.
You want to compare to the Diablo 2 expansion? We got to kill Ba'al in one extra chapter that we waited years for. Talk about disappointment.
I play games for the story and the characters...and enjoying the environments...and killing stuff. I think for an expansion...they did a great job. I'm planning on taking my time and seriously enjoying every bit of it.

hmmm i'm not THAT dissapointed with the reskinned armor, i would have loved if there were new textures to the armors and different style but oh well... i like the fact that tribal axes drop, aswell as dwarven and nice greens.
but what really pisses me off is the fact how some people here just pass by and say if you don't like then don't buy it. omg that's so lame... there's more to it than that, serving people off just like that..pfff lame lame

ye i agree,
i mean there were 150 new skills. 10 for each proffesion, and the armours are just reskined imo, and the game itself seems to be quite short , and there isnt much to it at all tbh.

It's not a matter of trying to be lame warrior...I think ANet worked seriously hard on making a content filled expansion...and creating new models takes a ton of work. More work than you could probably get done for just an expansion...plus with GW2 coming, with a completely new engine...and I'm sure more intense graphics...most of their resources are going to be allocated there.
To say that the game sucks or that there isn't enough content in the expansion, or because they reskinned some models to save some time I think is a little overboard considering that the expansion in size is almost as big as one of the full blown games.

...Not a full game. All I'm saying is lets do what we all do with every game that ANet has given us so far...appreciate it...play it...have fun...finish it...and then bug them for more.
Please understand that I'm not trying to flame or anything...I'm just really suprised that people are posting discussions marked "very upset" about an armour reskinning...it's like the game isn't even given a chance.

Hence why I dont think I will buy it even when I get the money.
And yes, lets compare it to Diablo 2.....2 new classes, lets say thats the equivilent of new skills.
An entirely new Act, the equivilent to the extra storyline/playable area's in GW:EN.
Tons of new weapons, armor and other things. - Well, there isnt really an equivilent in GW:EN, seeing as half the armor is reskinned, as well as many weapons that were campaign specific, now drop in GW:EN, so nothing really new there.
Ability to make new, unique armor - I know the games are completely different, but this just goes to show that the D2 expansion added more than GW:EN did, and its a much older game.
What I'm trying to say, is for an expansion, yes, the new areas are great, but the "expansion" kind of lacks on expanding the armor choices.

Sure it may be an expansion, but that makes it no diffrent from anything else, from what I hear GW:EN is pretty short, sure you may say the dungeons were a huge thing, and I know that they are, but there is no reason to not make new sets of armor. I, like many of the people that I know in the game like to spend their money on armor to make their chars look decent/good, as well as spend 100k+ on weapons to look good. I feel that by giving us reskined armors, (that I have to admit, dont look better then the existing ones) or by giving us reskined armors that are just a combination of armors isnt fair. If I'm going to spend money on armor/weapons to make me look good, I want it to be new, fresh looking armor and weapons, not ugly reskined stuff.

I dont think "bugging" ANet for better armor is wrong, and I hope when Gaile does log that people talk to her about it, because I sure will. Supposedly GW:EN is the LAST GW game before GW2, if it is, why can't they go out with a bang? Give us something realllly nice and cool looking.

This topic is really showing off peoplez greedy side. I mean I don't see any of you's creating/taking time to create new amours/items/weapons, If you're so annoyed about the amours, why don't you go make up your own, and see if you can send your ideas to them (ask for a new competition or something). I know I can't create anything near betta or close to theirs, so I don't complain, so if everyone is gonna complain then like some1 said earlier just don't buy them or looks at them.
The re-skinned amours do look alot like others, but at least they added new amours, so you should stop being so selfish and be gratefull you got some.

I know I cant create new weapons/armor, but I know ANet can, they are a bundle of ideas, (how would there be proph, factions, nightfall, and eotn?)

Ok, first off, I lack the required creativity that a graphic artist has.
Second off, I don't get paid as a graphic artist does, therefore they should put a little more effort into going the extra mile to make the customer happy.
As I said earlier, anyone with a decent knowledge of photoshop could do what Anet did with the reskins, in a few hours. How long was GW:EN in development? Not to mention they get paid for it too.....I'm sure its much easier to reskin something(a few hours of work) rather than making new armor(possibly a few days, to both model and skin it). It just seems to me that they let there graphic artist get away with doing very little work, to create the "40 new armors".....I dont think you can really consider a reskin as new considering its the same armor basically with a different color.

I seriuosly think you're taking the amount of work to get a new model built for granted. We're not talking an hour or two...not even a day or two...we're talking at least a week...maybe more to build a model, skin it...make sure it jives with the animations and movements...debugging. This isn't an easy process...and all the while these guys are building the environment, which requires more modeling and debugging...on top of all their other duties...of which I'm certain that GW2 is at the top of the list.
I'm positive that had they the time and the money to build additional armour models and whatnot...they would have. ANet hasn't shortchanged us from the start...so why would they now?
They gave us new content to keep things fresh while GW2 comes down the pipeline. And I seriously doubt that these guys have the standard 8 to 5 and go home. I've seen devs go 40 and 50 hours straight before they even get to think about seeing their bed. So saying that they're "getting away with" anything in my opinion just isn't right. They kill themselves to post stuff up for us...

Lets not get greedy, armor isnt everything. Game play and new content goes further with me than new armor.
I have 12 characters and only have bought 2 sets of 15k.
Also dont forget we have a mission pack coming in November. A-Net is doing good. Lets be happy with the new content and different game play styles introduced with GW:EN.

No, I'm not taking the amount of time and resources lightly. I know it takes awhile, but you do realize theres more than 1 person doing this right? And, you do realize that most of the guys working on the armor are not going to be working on landscaping, right? You also realize that anet had 2 teams, each working on a full campaign, right? I'm sure they could have left 1 of those teams together to make GW:EN a better game, with just the armor alone.
After all, what will cause people to buy GW2, knowing the last addition to GW was sort of a lame attempt, armor-wise, so they could work on GW2 or delaying GW2 an extra 2-3 months so they could make the first game go out with a bang, hyping more people up to buy GW2?
Ask Blizzard, they have created some of the most revolutionary games around(D2, Starcraft, WC[1-3], WoW, now SC2), and they do it by delaying the game until its finished, not pulling everyone off a team for one of the games, to make the next one better. This is why D2, SC and WC have lived so long, they still recieve updates every now and then, keeping them happy until the next sequal comes out.
Also, I'm quite sure they worked some long hours, but I highly doubt they went a week without sleep, I know for a fact that graphic design isnt nearly taxing enough to make them spend a week at the office without going home.
What I was talking about when I said an hour or two, is the reskinning. I'm sure they drew up some concepts for a few days, but once thats done and they have the final image on paper, reskinning something would only take an hour or two for someone who knows what their doing. Let alone a professional with as many tools as they can get their hands on.
Now, I know anet isnt as large as Blizzard, but they came(mostly) from Blizzard, they should know that they need to keep going 100% even if it is the last major change to a game, that way more people want to pay money for their next game.

I really hate this, honestly. I mean I come on gameamp after a really nice time playing GW:EN and I see a topic blaming it.
I do respect another person’s opinion but you guys can’t be this negative towards the game. Like some said it before, it’s an expansion!
I love the scenery, the new heroes, the new only PvE skills, the HoM, the dungeons….
I haven’t finished the game yet (far from it I think) but it looks like it’s going to be my favorite among the other 3 campaigns.
Anyone else feeling like me, loving the game?
