Too many recruteing threads

Not sure if the rest of you have noticed this but there are a slot of guilds recruteing on amp, so many that for the past couple daysI saw 3+ recruting thread in the top 5
and all these threads this is what u c

/bump
/bump
so comments in the slitest
this is very annoying for me as insted of the topics that everyone is interested in, you get the ones only guildess peps are
I think there is an ez solution for this, take the top guild posts off the top 5
or maybe make a guild recruting section and have those not in the top5
peps who are looking for a guild can just go there and alll there problems will be solved
also there will be alot more choices for the peps looking sence they will see them all infront of them
so then when a guild is recruteing they wont be rewarded with more mebers when they have more peps to bump the thread
well that my 2 cence, now lets see what all u think

i agree i dont like seeing Blah Blah Blah recuting and all the comments saying Bump BUmp Bump its very annoying.

yes i can't agree more!

always these boring recruiting threads -.- i've seen some where there have been like 50 posts and like 48 were from same person just bumping every few mins when it got off the top5..

having people bump this thread is so much better (at the top atm so this isnt a bump).... anyway doing something about recruit threads wont matter. very little useful info comes on gameamp anymore that the other threads aren't much better for the most part if better at all.

so i am trying to correct my wrongdoings from thhe past

Recruiting threads are fine although it is annoying seeing a bump every few minutes/hours.
There should be a 12 or 24 hour bump limit or make it that so recruiting threads don't appear on the front page.

I whole heartedly agree with you Albino. I do not like seeing so many recruiting threads in the top 5 forum posts. Every single time I log on, I see at least 1 or 2 recruiting threads if not more. And seeing them on there like that makes me want to ignore them even more instead of looking at them to try and join. They are accomplishing nothing other than filling our front page with junk and wasting their time. How many people do they even recruit from here? Not very many from what I've seen, considering that most of the posts are nothing but the same person bumping it to keep it on the front page. We need a separate forum topic just for guild recruitng and guild recruiting topics should never be allowed in the top 5 on the main page. Just my 2 cents worth. Cheers.

There is a supposed 'once a day' bump restriction, but I don't know how well it is enforced. I personally think its better than the "OMFGz look at teh funnies!" topics that seem to be happening all too often recently.

I personally agree that there might be a large amount of recruiting threads. The problem though, is if we remove a section out of the top five, that section tends to die, take a look at the trade thread....not very active anymore.

This is also the reason we do not want to remove the off-topic from the top five, for fear it will kill off that section too.

EDIT: At the time, the only solution I can think of that would keep theme out of the top five for most of the day, but not entirely, is if we created a only-one-bump-a-day rule for that section. That way we dont have guilds bumping their recruitment threads all day, keeping them in the top 5. Only problem with that is on a busy day, it will only be in the top 5 for a few minutes, which will mean that section wont get as much action as it does even now.

I agree that lately all ive been seeing is recruitment threads with loads of bumps and no hits from people wanting to join and its bugged me although i do understand that guilds do need to recruit :)

Honestly, this isn't such a big problem as people want it to be...

It's a very needed way for small guilds to gain exposure, and if you are so bothered by it, you don't have to read it do you? I know it's a fairly silly argument, but if you are here only for the discussing GW or in the off-topic section, then just click your way into the right section. It's isn't as hard as you people think it is ^_^

I am totally okay with the recruitment threads, they do not bother me.
