Archlord is the newest Free to Play, Free to Download game from Code Masters. This PvP based adventure has named their first "Archlords" as part of the ongoing gaming experience.

Archlord is set in the world of Chantra and is a mix of fantasy PvP. Codemasterse features a soft soundtrack (which I love) by the London Symphany Orchestra to go along with the killing. Your job in game? Simple, to rule the world and become Archlord.
Chantra contains 5 elements - fire, spirit, earth, water and air. These elements have a distinctive look and feel. The player moves through the world through many experiences from dark to light. Orcs start in a dark dreary expanse while humans start in a bright, open marbled world. Moon Elves find themselves in the middle of these two worlds with a color pallet of blues, purles and greens glowing in the evening night.
You can pick any of the 3 races Orc, Moon Elf or Human to play. Each of them of course have their own characteristics and advantages. Each also have their own classes, but all are similar. Each have a caster, melee and ranged class. There are 8 classes total to choose from.
The game features hardcore PvP experiences as well as solo questing experience through bounty hunting, real time battles, and NPC based quests. The real time battles can accomodate hundreds of players at once and become massive sights!

- Amazing In-Game Visuals - The mystical world of Chantra is fantastically realised with astounding character detail and gorgeous landscapes.

I played it in open beta. It was an alright game, but I kept running out of mana and had to wait too long to let it recharge. In addition, it was a gankers heaven, so if you don't like that kind of thing, just be aware.

Bought the game some moths back. Played it dindt like it.
Didnt like the controls. It just didnt feel good.
So i went back to wow

I've always wondered, how do those Free games keep the servers up? Is there advertising in-game or can website advertising keep it up?

Most free games offer a premium service, ie War Rock, Runescape, etc. Most games like this are either brought over to the States (K2 Network does a lot) and don't really offer great server service nor customer service.

Archlord has a chantra shop for you to buy things in...that probably makes enough to support it, most Free to play dont offer decent upgrades and patches or make you pay for patches to the game, and if they do offer patches the game is still subpar compared to pay to play games.

downloaded it after agges
made a character looked around for a while
loged out made another then looked around for a while
closed game to read manual
opened up again and demanded i download patches , here i am 3 days later stil not abel to play cos of a overhaul of tones off patches , same with you guys ?

I didn't have a patch issue but I havent been on it this week. Hmm...I will have to let you know later, I will try to get on this evening.
I did the same thing though, its not self explanitory like you would think any other game is, which makes it kinda suck because your so confused at first. But once you figure out the game it is fun.

well update i unitalled
reinstalled played for about an hour ~ then got booted off again
and demanded i download patches
same thing again =/
='(
and its such a good game to not try to reach max alsos =[

are you running on vista? If so try running in Run as Admin mode it may solve that problem.

Sounds fun, i'll give it a try. tried 2 moons. Blech, I don't recommend it.
