What a Disappointment

I am so tired of gold being the key to so many titles or having stuff in your hall of monuments.

Why must you make an item to put in your tapestry of valor?
I would like to put the weapons I use with my character like my Drago's Flatbow and other bows or staffs I use. Or why only allow 15k armour I like my Drok's Druids armour.
Everyone monument will be the same items, how boring our character's are unique and their monuments should reflect that. The only area I see that could be different is the mini pet area.

I thought the hall of monuments was about remembering your character and their accomplishments. Let's remember the character as they are not what you can buy. I spend my gold on skills. It's this what the game is about, not grinding out gold or getting armour or buying weapons. My best weapons are collector items I modified. My play is not about the flash of a stormbow it about beating the games as best as i can. I never keep more than 100k in my storage. I just play the game, mapping, and vanquishing areas.

There is reason the maximum level is 20 and max armour is 1.5k or 15K, and that is this game is about skill not what you can buy.

Add one more bonus for the boring farmers out there.

Skill means nothing, gold farming is key to the hall of monuments.

What a diappointment!!!!

although i do agree with the valor perspective you have to remember GW:EN is made for devoted players thus items only devoted players can get should go in there. this is in fact what makes the HoM unique ( you said every1's would be the same) but think, u put ur droks druids in there, how many other people have that same armor? alot. now how many have 15K armor? not so much. same thing with weapons. how many people use collectors? alot. how many have the time to get destroyer? devoted players. So yes it is kind of dumb that us poor people cant get a break but the devoted players SHOULD get more benefits than us

my point is that, they made the hall of monument sooo intresting in the preview i watched before GW:EN came out,
and now that i know, its really dissapointing, becuz u have to be rich, and it has no purpose in Guild Wars 1.

if it gave something special, as in, 250,000 xp, and like idk 5k + 5,000 reputation points for all three.

then id prolly do it. but for now. neh! im disappointed.

lol i went from 20k to 40k i na day from selling crappy drops from farming and selling urgoz scrolls obtained by AB!!

Dungeons ftw (i had no time to complete this one today , but tomorrow should be DUNGEON hunt) :D.

Or just play some pve in Eotn , i made around 25k when defeated TGD and now doing dungeons for titles,money and hope some armor.

Devotion is not farming gold or items.

I am just as devoted as anyone.

I have been playing this game for over 2 years now.

That is devotion.

I have 10 characters.

That is devotion.

Spending your gold on stuff that only makes you look "better," is not devotion.

That is vanity!!!!!!!!!

THIS GAME IS ABOUT THE SKILLS NOT ITEMS.

The HALL OF MONUMENTS is for PvP players and should be for them and there game play not to how much stuff you can collect or buy.

Playing this game as long as I have and I have kept all the following drops.

2 rubies
1 diamond
6 ecto
8 shards

I will never get enough to make the FoW armour my ranger deserves 9 max titles with 6 more with in reach by the end of the year.

I will not farm it is way to boring I would rather vanquish an new area.

Or complete all the quests remaining ingame.

HoM should be about your character with all his, weakness and strengths, not about what you can buy and/or collect.

How about a station in the HoM with your favorite builds for the caharcter?

How about a title for getting all skills in game, not just elites?

It is not like anyone else will see your HoM?

It is for you to see in GW2!!!!!!!!!!

wer talking about HoM

where u can only craft high end weapons..
only have 15k armor + FULL SET..
collect the minipets which it costomizes it...
and get hero armors ...

wer not talking about a good 3-4-5k here..
and a gold drop + green drop that int he end, u have
a total of 40-50k..

wer talking about having 4 mill atleast for HoM
becuz of the ridiculous prices on mini pets..
15k armors FULL SETS and Destroyer weapons
whhich are costly because of materials.

my female ranger ancient armor set cost me around 75k , good. but now i have 200k , so who cares ?.

Making much money and don't spend it = Money for your favorite item.I really want the Norn armor now on my female monk , i have the money, almost all materials ,just need to get the norn title.

And: I could do 5 things in my HOM (Mini pet troll, Ancient set, Drakescale set,Some bows and titles).

It even says that it will customize it TWICE before you put it on the Monument. If you still do it, then I say it is your own loss, and no one else.

I ahve to admit, I wasn't impressed when the HoM said that you ahve to have entire 15k sets... I ahve 11 characters, 9 lvl 20s, a lvl 18 and a lvl 10. I cannot possible afford 15k entire sets on all of them, and find it boring to focus on a single profession for more than a few hours before playing another (exceptions: playing GW:EN with my warrior, farming A/E solo greens)...

I ahve played for 13 months, and have 6 pieces of 15k across 3 characters... and none of my characters has max armour for every piece. The most money I have ever held on a single character was 31k, which I had after playing NF through with my P/W in 20 ARMOUR... (Max is 80)

Minipets..I'm not really complaining about this...

Weapons...I can't afford destroyer weapons...I don't have that kind of cash...

Titles... so I don't play enough to max any titles on a single character, and I don't really pvp...so that's useless too..

Heroes... across all of my characters, I must have at least 80 heroes...how can I get armour upgrades for that lot?

In short...it's rather a nieche thing...and farming for cash isn't nearly as easy as these people say it is..tell us how you farmed the 200k, and how long it took, then we'll go try it out....

This game is about skills not vanity armour.

It is not about the pretty weapons( chaos axe, strombow, etc) it is how you use your max items.

I spend my money on skills.

Its about how you use your skills, not how much gold you can farm.

Why help those ppl who buy gold online?

Lets make it even harder for ppl how about customizing high end collector drops so you know the person collected them and didn't just buy them with a credit card.

How many ppl do you believe would have FoW armour or Vabbian armour, if this was the case?

How about those glaical gloves?

I have slayer of wurmz and have only have 1 glacial ?? drops?

You can't tell me someone has had 35 drops already?

If the people that are posting negative about the HoM [or GW:EN anything for that matter] on here put 1/10th of that time into doing some dungeons, I'm not saying farming, then you might have some gold to go out and buy that armor.

I spent everything I had on my Ele Asura armor [down to 200g] and I felt good when I got it! I earned it. I then put it in my HoM. It looks good. Now when I 'happen' into my HoM and my guildies see that, they will be wow'ed!

Some people are blowing this WAAY out of proportion (altough I admit not having entered the Hall yet).

Perhaps the prices are HUGE, but doesn't that mean you first have to earn the right to keep the things you've automatically worked hard for (in some cases not, but whatever).

Farming DOES require skills (both littarly and figurative). Although it's also very repetitive, do you think 55hp farm lvl 26 Hydra's (with Meteor!) is that easy?! Or Griffins or so on.
Those people too have shown both skill and endurance to gain what they have now.

Yes, off course they'll allway's be people who will buy money online, but do you think they have enjoyed it as much as any of ous? Or get the same level of satisfaction?!

I hardly think that half a minute will get me through a dungeon heh

NB I've done draggimar once, and got an ok-ish drop... and it takes 20 mins...

I play for about 45 mins at a time...which means that hard-to reach dungeons, and those with lots of levels are kind of a no-no....

And quite honestly after a while the only thing worth anything decent are golds...which are hard to predict/get and even harder to get one that someone wants...

Again, I'd like to know how people make big money.... it either must take a long time... or I really need to make a 55 ;)

Because its 1.5k each. I think they are reserving the spots in the HoM for Elite 15k and 10k sets.

Well, I'm disappointed as well cause I prefer making new builds over buying armor...

I've spent over 120 skill point on *1* char! My other chars all have 1.5k armor, but I have nothin to put in the HoM except pets... and I love Hobos Wings! I wish the Hall showed 8everything* you'd gone, not just expensive stuff...

You don't need the armor helmet to display the armor in the HoM :D

And the hall of monument is kinda meant to preserve your main, your best, your character whom your really the proudest of for GW2. He's the one you should have 15k armor on, titles, hero armor,... You don't NEED to fill up HoM, it's an option. And you certainly don't have to fill it up for ALL your characters. Jeez, talking about overreacting. It's just a game people a very good one, buit still, a game. No need to get upset

How bout:

- I don't give a damn about how much money I can make
- I taught a younghster everything I know, and now he's a droks runner and a great FoW farmer
- I'm happy for the fact I can add my Black Moa to the shrine
- I can add the titles I earned on completing the mission in Tyria and Cantha...

Bottom line: for everything you want, you need to do something. I'm happy with the things I did, and chose not to do the things I didn't...

Let's keep it positive... If you do not want to work for the Bmw in armor, don't wine about it....

You lot appear to be expecting your hall to be instantly filled. There's a good 2 years before GW2 comes out. Spend that time getting a set of 15k if monuments mean so much to you. I've played 2 years and I only have 5 sets of 'prestige' armour, but the only set I farmed for was back when wammo griffin farming was all the rage. The residual cash that comes up taking 10 chars through 3 games earns you 15k armour.
In the next 2 years, do some work and you will be rewarded in GW2. 1.5k armour, though it can look good, is easy to obtain and therefore easy to get again in GW2. I think the idea to only allow only prestige armours in the Hall is a good idea because otherwise, EVERYONE will have a full Hall and that's not really the point. The point (hopefully) is to take things that take serious time and skill (and, apparently, money..) over to the next game, not every little thing you have.

(Side-note: mini-pets I don't mind about, if you dont want them customised because you want to sell them then you're cheating the system that you should have played for a year or done something special to recieve them. I do agree that the pets should be account-based, however, for people who like to swap their own pets around.)
