Hey everyone, i just started playing again, i needed a little break, and thought of a cool idea. I was reading a thread about the official CoH movie. It sounds like it could be awesome, (if they make it right).
I was thinking they should pick someones character to appear in the movie. Maybe just a cameo or something, but it will appear just as the person created it, with powers and all, and have the same name they created. Its probably not going to happen, but i thought it would be a great way to involve the gamers, since it would be the first MMORPG movie. What do you guys think?

I think it would be a great idea. Throw out the logistics of trying to figure out who to pick, and just think about taking the actual players of the game getting cameo shots in the movie.
I guess they could do like a lot of other TV shows do when they fish for something like this. Have people send in applications like they were trying to join the Justice League or something and their character's background. Then pick out the best entries.
We all know who the whole movie will revolve around. But there should be a couple of our heroes in there too. We can't actually sell them in comics because they own the intellectual rights to even our designs, but some of our backstories are better than that thin crap they made up for Statesman and Lord Recluse. I've seen WAY better story tellers here.
Hell...... I've seen better hero back stories here than some of the DC and Marvel stuff.....

I have to agree. I've seen some amazing stories/concepts from other players. See, this game brings out the creative side of us all. And your right, they are better than most of the ideas and stories that are professionally written. Thats another reason why they won't consider doing something like this, they want all the ideas to come from their writers. Oh well, its still cool to think about the possibilities.

what i would like to see is a SpecOps Origins movie.......like that'll happen....but it would make me very happy inside.

A City of Heroes Movie?
Oh,no. That's going to go terribly wrong. The Game is going to get advertised so much that it's going to be packed with Kids like in World of Warcraft. And that's guaranteed.

You got a point there variety. The obnoxious kids is one of the reasons i left WoW and came back to the good ol' CoH!
