Just had a quick search on the official wiki and found this, it's a quest item that is bugged and stays in your inventory after you claim the quest reward.

Ya i just got that same item like 10mins ago and i still have it. Would be pretty cool if it was a mini pet of some type.

Edit: In case you didn't get the sarcasm, it's a bug, you're not going to get anything from this. Except the quest reward that you already got.
