Well now that this has been out a bit, has anyone played this yet or have any comments about this game within the game?

I haven't played it yet, but have been told by a very reputable Kerra with extensive experience in these kinds of card games that it is very similar to Magic: The Gathering... except the spells, for example, come from our world of Norrath. :-)

I have only made it through part 1 of the tutorial but yes right now it looks like a cross between Magic the Gathering and the Diplomacy part of Vanguard. One thing even non EQ2 players will be glad to know is that they released a free client to play the game. Heck the art work alone might be worth a look. Check it out at Legends of Norrath

I was really hoping for something more...err less complicated card game. I have been through the tutorial a few times and am still having trouble understanding it. I was hoping for a quick card game that could be played while I waited for people to show up for a raid.

I basically squeeze in 1 tutorial a week but was expecting a game more like the basic Magic The Gathering game or the way Diplomacy duels are done in Vanguard.
The game is definately a lot to take in and remember.
