| Hitsounds bug / conflict? |

Absolutely delighted about what the hitsounds were doing for my Raptor effectiveness, I noticed when they went away. I’m trying to figure out if this is a (very minor) glitch in UTComp or if there is something I need to tweak elsewhere in my setup.
Symptom:
- I lost vehicle weapon fire hitsounds but still had hand fired weapon hit sounds (after having them both for a while).
What it’s not:
- I thought this might have been a cache problem (different versions of UTComp in cache) or a problem in the UT2004.ini or User.ini files but I cleared the cache and removed the UTComp15 and UTComp16 material from the ini files and reinstalled UTComp16 locally but it still happened. The problem follows the same path when I’m playing locally with UT2k4 3355 or when I connect to a particular UT2k4 3339 on-line server.
What it is:
- It seems as if the “show weapons stats on scoreboard” setting in UTComp16 may have something to do with this. Weather on-line or local (instant-action), if I start a game with the “show weapons stats on scoreboard” setting disabled in the UTComp client side misc. configuration screen I will have hand fire weapon hitsounds but no vehicle weapon fire hitsounds. Changing the setting within a game then returning to the game and then changing it back to disabled will restore the vehicle fire hitsounds during the game. Starting a game with this setting enabled eliminates the problem. Other settings in the UT Comp misc. screen do not seem to have an effect on this.
I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this or could point me to something specific to my setup could be causing it.
Here is the sum total of UT2k4 related material I have installed.
Standard PC release of UT2k4
Editors Choice Bonus Pack
Community Bonus Pack 1
Community Bonus Pack 2
Patch 3355
UTComp16
MapMixer
Air Buccaneers
Red Orchestra
Miscellaneous player models/skins
I’m still philosophically on the fence about the “enhanced netcode” feature but do have the choice to use it or not, and the rest of the package is spectacular. Thanks!

When you turn off stats client-side the server uses a different method for sending hitsounds (with stats on it sends stats/hitsound at the same time). This must just be a bug with them off.
Not really much you can do but enable stats i think for now =x

Other than a mild graphic preference to be able to see text chat at the end of a match (which I can see by pressing F1 anyhow) it’s no problem at all. Thanks for the response and explanation.
