It's not bad. I would always recommend a duel core, and if you can afford it a quad core.
However, I would double the amount of ram, with windows vista I have 2gb and use 50% of my ram almost all the time. So, get two gig sticks if you can

I would always sugguest 2 gigs of ram for any modern system....though I use to run on 1 gig, and it ran fine in terms of GW(60FPS average with a much worse computer, and the quality about 3/4ths of the way up)

For GW that is a good computer.
And get XP, Vista just eats up your memory for absolutely no reason.

I agree with the other posts. Try to get XP [Media Center if you want] and go with 2GB of RAM [SO-DIMM].
Who makes that system? I am looking to buy a laptop as well. I am looking at Alienware right now....saving up for the 15.4" model...

Alienware is way too expensive for what it knows. I don't doubt its quality and service but to pay 3000+ dollars on a notebook...I can buy a much better PC on that money, maybe even 2! And such notebooks that they offer are like around 4 kilograms in weight which is enormous for a notebook.

I agree on the Dual, but the Quad will just absorb money for no good reason.
Quad Cores cost around 800-900 euro/dollars at itself and they have visualy no difference with a Dual which would cost 300-400 euro/dollars...
Ontopic: Looks alright, my system is half of that and I can still play things like: Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Battlefield 2142,...

Increased ram is always nice. ditto with cores.
Vista needs a gig to itself....

It depends what your using it for, gaming, hell, dual-core isnt even needed as many games run single-core only(but it will allow you to multitask better, run a game one one core and everything else will run on the other core). Quad-core, you should have seen the difference when my dad upgraded to a quad-core in his workstation. A huge, 3d model of his entire facility(he works at Lockheed), took about 30 minutes to open on the dual-core.....he upgraded to the quad-core, and it took a little over 1 minute to open the same file.
