hi guys, does any1 know if it is possible to get your pet to playful and then dire? or do they have to be aggressive to dire?
* Playful: -(~5)% damage, +30 health
* Hearty: -(~12-14)% damage, +60 health
* Aggressive: +(~5)% damage, -30 health
* Dire: +(~12-14)% damage, -60 health
* Elder: -0 damage, +0 health
another thing, how do you get an "elder" pet, i got a lion to aggressive at lvl 11, and then it hasnt changed since, even though its now lvl 20
thanks! gary

It pretty much needs to be Aggressive to be Dire. If you are at playful, then it will most likely go to Edler if you try to make ti Dire.

ehmmm it has to be agressive to get dire i thought.
and i thought it had something to do with the dmg/deaths of a pet.
if your pet stays alive much it gets hearty or something
if it attacks allot and does much dmg it gets agressive and later on dire.
not sure tho...

"In order to get an Elder Pet, a way that guarantees success (but is very difficult to accomplish) is to train it while making sure that neither you nor your pet deal/receive damage until it is level 15."
That's what wiki says about getting an elder pet

I dono, maybe, but i think u can't take dmg as well, meh personally I say elder pet isn't worth it.
"a level 20 Elder pet does 17-41 damage per hit against an AL 60 target; with the critical hits removed the base damage is 17-29"
"a level 20 Dire pet does an average of ~28.1 damage per hit for ~13.1 DPS at base attack speed" If u have a dire pet might as well stick with that.
But seeing as elder is pretty hard 2 get is kinda an accomplishment

To get hearty, You have to deal more damage than your pet. To get aggresive your pet has to do more damage then you. Also deaths are involved but I forgot how it works. To get elder I think you just do the opposite way of how to get it. Like if you got hearty just let your pet do more damage then you to get elder.

Now it makes sense. :P
My pet naturally got elder because it was the black Moa bird in factions. And its the best pet I ever had.
Edit: The best way I got dire on my first attempt was using death leveling trick I learned in pre searing.

This is off topic but instead of making a new thread I'll add my question here :D
Does xp scrolls effect the experience of the pet?

Good Question... I've currently got a level 17 aggressive rainbow phoenix and am trying to go for dire so scrolls would really help :D I'll have to check into this when I log into game later.

I don't think it does since xp scrolls affect party members while pets are considered allies. I've currently got a level 17 aggressive rainbow phoenix and am trying to go for dire so scrolls would really help :D I'll have to check into this when I log into game later. |
I'm doing the same thing except mine is level 6 o.O

Gave the scrolls a shot while leveling my phoenix in Elona Reach and to my relief, they do receive additional XP from scrolls :D

Haha ya I was just about to say that, pets do not get experience from missions, quests, or scrolls, they only get experience from killing enemies, and need the same experience we do.
