What is "55"? I see it mentioned in builds all the time and frankly, have no clue what it means. I just smile and nod my head.... :)

55 mentions the hp u use.
together with protective spirit (wich allows u only to lose 10% health) makes u easy to keep alive with health regeneration.
since teh basic doesnt include a elite skill u can use anything u like. with Mo/N mostly used is SS wich stands for spitefull spirit. and the most used monk elite is SoJ (shield of judgement)

The "55" concept revolves around having 55hp, as well as the skill Protective Spirit. To achieve 55hp, you must have 5 superior runes, and then a -50hp off-hand (quest reward for Cities of Ascalon (I think it's called that)).
Then, as prot spirit limits your received damage to 10% of your hp, and because this number is rounded down, the maximum damage you can take when under this enchantment is 5 per attack. This can then obviously be extremely useful for solo farming - as when you have a regen skill such as Mystic Regeneration (Dervish), you health pretty much never moves.
You are invincible! ;-)

note,
dont take the invincible to literally.
life stealing and enchantrippers stil pwn u big time. so if those are in the area u wont be able to farm it.
55 mostly farms W/R/A/D/E
wich already is 50% of the enemys

Don't forget the undead! (I know they contain those classes and aren't a profession). Undead farming with a SoJ 55 monk in Kryta is a good farm (SoJ = Shield of Judgement), monks do double damage to undead by using holy damage (some dervish skills cause holy damage too).
No such thing as a noob question unless you intend to ignore the answers :) It may be a newb question but definately not noob.
