I was just surfing around your site when I was attacked by some kind of virus. It was blocked by my anti-spyware software. It came in as a scr ipt (I had to break that word because it wouldn't let me use it). I have been using your site for months and never had any problems of this sort before. It happened when I attempted to switch from the City of Villains site to the WoW homepage by clicking on the drop-down menu in the top right corner of the page. I don't think I ever visited the WoW site before.

I don't get what your saying, are you saying its our fault that THIS site has a virus? I wonder...maybe its that we are undergoing a virus? hmm! HMMM!!! I get to the WoW section fine...

Okay looks like the WoW site Got hacked thats what happened unfortunately not to long ago we got badly attacked by some loser who put little dots in all his postings that contained malicous code that caused viruses to attack people who opened the infected posts. The Devs remedied this by not allowing the word Scr-ipts to be used in any comment, reply, article etc. thats why you could not use it just now. It seems our dedicated hacker must have found a way to get his dots in posts again thats what happened.
It appears that the devs may solved the problem because I surfed over the WoW site with no problems. I apologize for any inconvienence. I do know they are aware of the problem and are working on it see Here

It's a fairly simple thing to do, if you know what you are doing when hacking..not that it should ever be done by any of you. <_<....If you hack, i'll kill you.

either way, unwarranted, malicious conduct such as this is just juvenile. if the guy had any real skills he wouldn't be bothering with a site like this. seriously. go bother someone else.

just so you guys know, i wasn't blaming the site. i thought i made that clear. i apologize for any misunderstanding. i just wanted to alert people to a potential threat and where it was located.

he didn't edit the posts themselves. he edited the source code for the page itself. it's being worked on. they are pretty sure they have figured out how he hacked his way in and are working on fixing that as well. so far, it's on the coh and wow main pages. i'm checking each other page now.

hey guys,
they're at it again. when i came to visit the site i clicked on login now. i have my browser (firefox) remember my password. i had to click it 3x to get logged in. good thing i didn't try to re-enter my login info because i think that's what they were after. when i closed the browser i got inundated with all kinds of popups. i ran spybot search and destroy, mcafee, and desktop cleanup to try to get rid of it. spybot found 28 items, mcafee didn't find anything, and desktop cleanup froze up. i got rid of some of the items but the fact that cleanup didn't work has me worried. i'm not sure what to do next. i'm gonna call the guy that made my computer tomorrow to see if he has any suggestions.

its like that for pretty much everyone atm. devs are still cleaning up the hacker's mess.
about the popups, i wouldn't worry about em, just popups. and desktop is a microsoft thing, that's self explanatory.
(oh jess i just dissed microsoft!)

all i can say is that i'm trusting that the devs are working on getting this all straightened out as quickly as possible. i have not experienced any of the login issues you describe and i haven't experienced any of the popups either.
all i can suggest is that you keep your anti-virus and spyware protections up to date. which is what you should all be doing anyway.

Ok, the desktop cleanup problem is solved. It wasn't frozen it just took an incredibly long time to run because it had to compress a large amount of old files. It is fine now and as far as I know all the malicious software has once again been removed from my computer.
