| best arch type for a new comer |

Hi I'm new to CoV/CoH i have played both games a little and i like the arch types of the villains better. I know there probably isn't a "best" arch type but i would like to know which you guys think would be the most fun and easiest arch type to get to know the game better. Thanks for all your help =D

ild love to say stalker, becuase you can be more selective about your enemys then a brute/tanker, or a brute/tanker the basic principle of run smash destroy lol

welcome to cox!
i agree with you on the cov archetypes, they're a little more diverse than the hero ones if you ask me.
anyway, i'd go for either a stalker or a brute.
stalkers are pretty straightforward; hit hard and then kill them before they kill you. stalkers are the rogue-ish guys in this game.
brutes are very heavy hitters, and they can take some punishment. the more they hit and get hit, the more powerful the become. brutes are the fighter/warrior-ish guys in this game.

I think the best toon to start with depends on your style of playing. I started with a stalker, my brother started with a corruptor. We now have many toons and doms and brutes are my favs and my brother still likes corruptors. I say go with what you want, just be true to your toon.

hi, and welcome to the site! best thing you can do is make one of each archtype and play them till you have the basics of each one down, then pick the one that you have the most fun with. i found i liked stalkers and corruptors useing this method and is, in my opinion anyway, the best way to find an at to play. (at -archtype)

i have all of them my 2 main ones are a lvl 38 stalker and a lvl 17 brute, Brutes are like smash and the front line ppl and stalkers are more like u cant see me go to the end of a mission and defeat who every and done that is why i love stalker and brutes

Brute- SS/EA, EA/EA, EA/FM, FM/EA, I heard elec is good in the higher levels but I can't seem to get into it.
Dom- Fire/Fire, Fire/Psy, Psi/Psi, Psi/Ice
Corr- Dark/Dark, Ice/Rad, Ice/Ice, Fire/Dark
MM- Bots/Dark, Thugs/Dark, Thugs/Poison, Ninja/TA
Stalker- EM/Dark, EM/Nin, EM/Regen, Spines/Regen
These combos I found to be the easiest to play, though it all depends on your tactics...
When the sum is 273, the hollow soul I will be.

i am going to try and weigh in here although the site is giving me conniptions lately when posting. here goes.
welcome to cov gameamp, ric3boi783 (btw is that 'rice' or 'ricky' when i create a new 'nickname' for you... doesnt matter); we hope that you enjoy the show.
all of the above are great ways to start, and since opinions are like elbows (everybody usually has a couple); i will add my own.
go with your gut feeling, and as mentioned before, play to your strong suits. personally, i like playing a support or ranged character generally. but after playing blaster & defender in coh, i wanted to try something unique so i went with mastermind. i love 'em, but be warned: they can be some of the most labor intensive toons to master. other 'support' characters would be controllers in coh, and corruptors & dominators in cov. if you like the 'in your face' style of play with a simple 'hit the ground running' approach or style; go with tanker or scrapper in coh and brute or stalker in cov.
just a reminder that masterminds can run both ways. i personally found that an 'in your face support' playstyle worked for me with my main villain, a mastermind, but many play their mm's at range supporting their henchies and their team.
finally, dont feel 'locked in' to a toon especially if you havent broken 20 (level 20 that is), if you find yourself dissatisfied at any point; roll another at and give it a try. you may find that you will want to come back to your first toon later, but after more experience with the game that the first choice wasnt 'your strong suit'. in any event, have fund and keep us up to date on your progress.

jeez sapir, you are so colorful! lol :)
but when i first started to play cov i was already a veteran on coh. i experimented here and there and found that a master mind would be the easiest to play if you need a rundown on the basics of controls and what not. if you already know about all that good stuff, then try making a corrupter (i play a ice/kin and it is sooo much fun :) ) it is easy to play, wanted by teams and easy to solo. if you want more of a challenge in my opinion i would have to say dominator, but thats just cuz i always have a hard time with the controlling types.

it really depends if you played other mmos. if you have played mmos like guild wars then i would say either corruptor or brute. if you played wow then stalker or mastermind and if you tried any before then brute for sure because it has the highest health so you can get used to the game without being so weak.

welcome to the game. i'm sure on the hero side,they came to the conclusion of you starting out with a scrapper. if you did choose that archetype i'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to play something similar to that. so let's take brute out of the picture. it all comes down to a stalker or a dominator. stalkers are the heart of the villains in pvp (player vs player). they're one of the most common archetypes you see roaming the streets. dominators on the other hand are very unique. i personally love dominators. they do good mob control and have good damage. they can pretty much do anything. now i'm not the one to telling you what archetype you'd like best,so read what others have to say and then make your decision.

i have to say, i personally like that build, though mine didnt get very far its a really fun build to play, i really liked the singularity at the end of the set.
