finaly my local whsmiths got pcgamer 180 after waiting since last thursday got home seen the guildwars give away advert on front of mag opened to the stated page nothing no code no competion to get a code nothing wtf? next time please state the exact details of a competion/giveaway clearly ty so if anyone is thinking of buying a magazine for a rare asian mini dont bother its a big joke

I believe that they stated it would be a "golden ticket" like competition, so there is a small chance that you will get something, a massive chance you won't. Most of the winning tickets will probably end up with non gw-players or in the bin after they haven't been sold.

sorry to hear that but it was stated on the promotion page here that not all magazines will have the code since it is a limited edition giveaway.

yah, i got nothing either. and the most annoying part is that some random wow player is bound to get the vizu and either stick it on ebay, or just have no idea what to do with it and throw it away.

i bought a copy of pc gamer yesterday and it had one of the cards in it.....i got a grawl minipet. i still think it's silly that the chances of getting a minipet are so low, and that many will end up in the hands of people who either don't like or don't play gw.

should of made it ...so the only way to get to know what pet you will win if that you login to gw but you have to have the game to get it ( dont know if it says or not what you won on card )

that's actually not a bad idea, then at least people would be more likely to give it to a friend with guildwars if they don't have it themselves. it would also inherently mean people would have to open guildwars to check the item, beneficial for anet as they may be getting someone back to the game from innactivity/another game etc.
the way they've done this one tho, some dude with a level 70 paladin will be like:

Maybe they are losing money cause the expansion arent give enough to them, so they decided to sell a magazing with a mini pet in, the chance to get one is Mid
so people buy it for the pet, but when they don',t got one they just throw away the magazine. xD

it's for people who have access to those pc gamer magazines. since those particular issues are being released in europe, then most (if not all) will be european readers that can get a hold of these magazines.
furthermore, i'm certain that most people who buy the magazines will even care about the minipet code and just let the minipet code go to waste. a thousand magazines out of hundreds of thousands of prints may not even leave the stores and end up in the trash when it comes time for the stores to put up the next months issues. although its a novel idea to have an exclusive partnership with a magazine, it could have been executed better.
