AR/Dev is a pretty good PvP combo, personally i would say go with a Spine/Regen (pretty much god mode for pvp lol >.>). But anyways, if you are gonna PvP the only powers i suggest you stay away from in AR is flamethrower and the grenade thing (>.>) flame doesnt do to much damage, and grenade is a little to end heavy for my taste. Dev there a bunch of powers i suggest you not take: Taser, time bomb and auto turret. I find those powers to be pretty much of a waste, time bomb just cuz it will go off when the time limit is up, go with trip mine and hit those nasty stalkers!

devices is quite a good set for those who are the thinking type, especially when it comes to masterminds. i know many people will complain that if a mm has his pets in bodyguard mode they are hard to beat, yet it was in sirens call a device blaster got the better of me several times before i finally got around (not countered) his strategy. so yeah, doing a good build for your devices can sometimes out think those who rely too much on taking your attacks head on.

I had some arenafights with my AR/Dev Blaster and 3 very underestimated powers lead me to some victories.
Webgrenade, Caltrops, Ignite.
Immob, slow, DoT(Fire).
Pin them down, slow them down, autohit, less resistet damagetype.
And those attacks wasn't even really slotted up, cause I'm not pvping a lot.
I'm listening to real music.
Real Rock, real Gothic, real Rap, real Soul, real Funk...etc

i'm not a pvp type but have got my ar/dev up to 49(not long to 50) but i find it's one of my best solo toons. trip mines are the "bomb":), two will drop most minions and a dozen will take a eb/av to about 1/2 hp.
the important thing is to take your time and set up your postion. planning and out thinking your foe is the better part of valour. try getting them to chase you into your minefield/caltrop patch, having a "hidden" turrent adding a little extra punch helps. throw in a beanbag and web grenade and most foes will fall.
mines also give you a defence when in lag hell, set them up before any attack and you can survive a mid combat lag most times.

actually this is an underused part of the game, most pvper's tend to come at you head on with strong melee attacks, most faltering when they start to get bogged down, the only one who has gotten the best of me in pvp so easily is the device blaster, by setting a caltrop/trip mine field he was able to use tp foe to whisk my mm into the middle of it with little trouble, unfortunately for him it worked great for a few times before i was able to find a way around it.
don't be afraid when someone complains you are using tp foe in pvp, simply because if they are using things like stealth, aid self and things from the fitness pool then there is nothing wrong with using things from the teleport pool. (most people get upset they didnt think of it first ;)

Oh wow!!!! My main, Eva Valerius, is AR/Dev :) didnt see this thread before! Anyways. not much knowlage PvP wise, but teleport foe + lots of trip mines + caltrops = dead people. You might want to grab stealth power pool set along with your cloaking device. It will hide you a bit better in the lower PvP zones. Finding another /device blaster to team up with is always a great choice too. more mines, more caltrops. Outside of PvP you can get a lot of mini novas. Trip mine, Full-Auto, and Time bomb (didn't take it because of the recharge time. multiple trip mines can be placed for more damage before this recharges) Also grabbing the munitions power set when you hit 41 is a great thing too! cryo freeze ray, sleep grenade (which i never bothered with cause AR is cone/aoe heavy), Body Armor (noticable difference when you get it), and the LRM Rocket which is another mini nova. Outside of PvP large mobs are hardly a problem. As long as you have a breakfree or many. Oh and with the targetting drone you can pretty much go without putting accuracies in powers. I threw one in each though. I don't like to miss... And as a blaster you don't have a self heal, so I would suggest the medicine pool. heal other, stimulant, either would help the team out. Plus you need one for aid self. Wow... this is my longest post yet :)

Stealth+Cloaking Device??
Does that work together?
Ok...I would suggest Superspeed as a travelpower anyway, so you wouldn't need anything else to get invisible (Cloaking Device+Superspeed=Invisible).
But TP as a Travel power sounds fun 2.
Just to TP baddies right into your Trip Minefield.
A MM did that to me in Warburg...nasty.
AR is AoE heavy?
I must have missed something...but I am more the single target blaster all the time.
=P
But Aid Self is a nice gimmick...and the animation with the little gadget healing you really fits into a Devices blaster look.

the sttealth from super speed does not affect villain players.
also, i wouldnt reccomend ar/ for pvp, honestly. it is low burst damage, low single target damage, and it roots you, all of which will make you that much easier to kill in competitive pvp.
Clicky.

yes ar is cone/aoe heavy. you have buckshot, m30 grenade, flamethrower, full auto, ignite. plus the lrm rocket if you take the munitions set.
