as variety had reported back in march, new line has acquired rights to make a movie based on epic games' gears of war.
now gow lead designer cliff bleszinski sounds off on who'd he like to see cast for the movie.
"i get a lot of forum posts where gears fans tell us we need to cast this wrestler as marcus. i don't give a f**k if the guy's buff or six foot five," he said. "what matters most is that this guy is charismatic and he can act and is somebody compelling that you want to watch on screen."
cliffy b cites the rock as an exception. "the rock is the rare exception of a wrestler who is that charismatic that he can carry a movie. if they cast four mongoloid wrestlers in gears and they're just as exciting to watch as paint dry on the screen, nobody's going to go see it."
now about the gears of war story, i've seen some over-hyped crap in my day, but for all the people bashing halo simply because it had millions funneled into it, gears of war is a classic example of a completely shallow and mediocre setting (both visually and in terms of the narrative) hyped up to the point where it may look like a genre-defining game to people who want to believe that.
also don't forget to pick up your copy of gears of war pc next month on nov. 6

Dunno why people are so negative against Vista, I have it on both my desktop and my laptop. Works fine, in fact, I'm still finding great things about it! Example: I found that I can take screenshots of what I want, instead of whatever's on the screen! Like if I wanted a screenie of just THIS word, I could do it no problem.
I'll probably pick up the GoW for PC. Though I'm not much a fan of Video Game Movies.

i just hate microsoft. they're just stupid. vista is a crapload of money, and its just blech. mac isn't as bad but its still the same. i'm all linux.
and it just pisses me off how all these great games are being bought out by microsoft and being 'only for vista' games. oh well, they can only protect the disc by so much... =]

Aha...vista....only.../barf
Um, there is always a way around such troubling things, like, Halo 2 for 'Vista-Only' and actually is leagal if you bought and own it since it doesn't bother the EULA! So, hopefully it's XP and Vista, but if it's not, hopefully it's like Halo 2 where it's legal to have a work-around.

you could always cross platform your macs if that is the issue too. i hear it is not that much slower on your fps or anything if you duel boot.

Because I don't want to buy a new completely overprised OS for my computer to play new games, since my old XP works just fine. I don't like the gimmick that they force ppl to buy Vista just so they could keep playing on PC.

Raise Shields!, contact starfleet command....tell them, we have engaged the worlds worst operating system, Windows Vista.
lol i only use it frequently on my Fiance's computer but i do hate it with every part of me.
Currently my pc has XP, but i use my Mac ALOT. I enjoy mac, i would like to try Linux because i have never seen it in action.
but tell microsoft that resistance is not futile...by the time they try to assimilate me i'm sure an error will occur right after they get permission from the collective a few dozen times.
"would you like to assimilate this species? yes...no?" YES DAMMIT!

If anyone wants to try Linux, believe it or not, its 100% free.
You can have all the operating systems you want, and it wont cost you $100+ each!! They are 100% Legal to edit, but not to sell.
