Is it just me, or has this game lost its novelty?

So basically, over this summer, i took a break from GW to you know, get a life, job, etc. Then, when i came back, after getting gw:en (which was a rip off JUST SAYING im not flaming) but it seems to me that GW isnt the, to quote an Aerosmith song, "Same old Song and Dance". Its not fun. I'll be frank. Its just kill this. Do this quest. Go here. Get these massive amounts of points and then do it again for another thing. I only log anymore so I can talk to my friends.

If it seems like im flaming or ranting and raving im not meaning to. But, does anyone feel that GW has gotten boring?

I would have to disagree with you. It depends since you spent the whole summer away from GW you got accoustmed to not playing it,therefore when you got back it did not have the appeal as it used to. You mentioned not liking doing all of the quests, how bout trying PvP or something else?

Have the pvp builds not changed in 4 months? A-Net seriously hasnt nerfed something in FOUR months? /faint

not to sound rude but a quote i like is "Boredom is a sign of a lazy brain." Im not at all saying you have a lazy brain but i am saying that maybe look around a little bit,
Try something different. Do a dungeon, max a title, create a guild...what ever floats your boat.
Remember the better stuff and higher titles you have before GW 2 the better it will be!

nah i don't think GW has gotten boring really. I think its really fun still and i just loved GW:EN but thats my opinion.

Yup, I agree with you Sleep. The game lost its sheen to me, suddenly, one day while I was playing

I took a 6 month hiatus, came but, and realized that game wasn't all the great. I go on to talk to my friends and do some GvG. Thats about it. Its pretty hard to get stuff without a farming char.

GW has lost that little click maybe its because its the same old thing every single time but i blame it on the campaigns 4 new charecters = 4 more usless things to do and 4 more things to screw up on....+ all the new players who rant about how they think there the greastest thing ever and corect my english ITS CALLED

Everything loses it's appeal. All games stop being fun to you at some point. That's the way it works. Life is a constant series of changes. If the game is getting boring hey at least you aren't paying a monthly fee so you won't have a chip on your shoulder if you quit. Not saying that you should but hey if the game ain't fun you know whats best.

after i max my HoM...i think im gonna stop. i feel like im grinding when i do nothing but kill things, do quests that always end up being not so different, and then killing some more.

yeah i took a one week break since i got my 360 back and I thought GW was awfully boring. But now seeing the current meta it actually is pretty interesting to me and now i wanna get back into HA now.

quit gw for good. end of story.

i dont know id have to disagree with you on everything.. I did the take a break thing too, when i came back wasnt having much fun for about a week or 2 but then i got back into it.. there is plenty to do and when there isnt there is always new characters you probably havent tried and even now over 2 years after when i originally started playing the game, there is still a bunch of things i have never done and want to

See, this hasn't happened to me with GW yet but b4 I played this game, when I played RuneScape(CRAAAAP) I quit for 3 months partially because I got a month on WoW(testdrive buddy key) and my friend invited me to IMVU(chat server). I came back to RuneScape and was BORED. I was thinking wat in the world did I see in this:Thud,0; thud,12! See thats why I like GW alot more because you have skills, a variety of different paths to choose, 3 seperate campaigns, IAS skills(Increased Attack Speed), spellcatsting was much more fun, so basically GW just added variety to my RPG nerd-brain. See I have found many things now that keep me interested in GW, I have all the games, I recentlty(3 weeks ago) started over and found some great derv builds(PM me in game to see them, IGN:Rambunctious Scythe), and I'm in [reap](AWESOME guild). Try AB if you want a healthy mix of slight PvE and big PvP. If you want all out PvP try some Gvg. I say AB because the fights don't last long. In GvG I'm talking HOURS. HoH is ok, not as fun since they updated the favor system. I don't have it memorized right now but pm me or Toa Hahli for a great Plains of Jarin sin solo.(btw ty Toa,if you read this, for sending that in guild chat). Hmm... thes alot more I'm just running a short fuse and my fingers are getting sore, and I want to actually get on GW.

sometimes i get bored too, but i got the most awesome remedy :D (at least i like it ^^)

Go in AB, look at those builds that seem overpowered to you (the eles with their stone armor thingies and mystic regen, imo)
i studied their builds (by dying xD), and managed to make a cool anti build for those. just a simple necro with enchantment removal (or you could use a mesmer), or my favorite against Dervishes with their massive regen, necro with Rend Enchantments and Insidious Parasite (also useful against sins ^^)
(in my opinion this is better then a MM :D)

so, let your fantasy go, and make those balthazar points reach 0 :D

I agree, Guild Wars just lost everything...

PvE is all about farming and grinding for useless titles for another stupid WoW like mmorpg (Guild Wars 2, dont flame me!)

PvP build haven't changed or ever been like at the start(2 years ago) when everyone had whatever build THEY thought was good not what everyone else is using...

GvG died a looooooooooong time ago for all the low end guilds, still kinda goes on with high end GvG guilds that GvG EVERY DAMN SECOND OF THEIR LIVES!!! ( aka no life, right after WoW players)

Ye, well Fury is coming out might be a good PvP game but other then that...

Guild Wars is dead not what it was meant to be...

i thought it'd be a nice change with GW:EN, but i realized i could not make a new character for my ONE-TROPHY-CHARACTER-PER-GAME toaly wanted to be a NORN), which toaly down-played my expectations. combined with a 3 day-finishing of the game, i feel empty but continue to sign on in hopes of staying on for more than 5 minutes at a time, or until next mean disconnect.

DUDE I TOTTALY AGREE sorry for the caps but there's no other way to say this game has gotten so boring i actually log on: take 2 steps, see if sum1 fun is online,, if yes i say hi if he/she doesnt got much to say i log off go on msn and talk to other ppl which mainly have alot to talk about so yes it's has gotten SOOOOO BORRRING

Last time this happened I went over to WoW for a bit... not to turn this into a GW vs all comers thing but it made me realise that GW was awesome (WoW's graphics were too cartooney after gorgeous GW, and the time on a single char to get to 60/70 was just too much)

Characters: multiple is my answer. I have 11, I always have something I could do. I can attempt to 55 (105, I don't have the cesta yet heh) or I can Shadow Form sin farm, or I can play through any of the three games OR GW:EN. There's just sooo much choice. I am also slowly playing through TES: Oblivion at the same time, as a change.

If you're still getting bored, consider playing a bit less, start ddoing something else for a while, mebbe you'll come back, if you find something worthwhile maybe you won't, but I wish you the best either way :)
