which class in cov is the equivalent to controllers in coh, and which 2 power sets would you guys recommend to be the funnest and with great animations, also I really liked the aoe type of attacks where you sort of stop or effect everyone? I played gravity and kinetics in coh and it was great.
thx

The controller equivalent in CoV is the Dominator.
What seems cool to me is a mind/psy, cuz it has to do with mind control, and that always fascinated me.

Well, eneyman, I tried one once, but it was the reverse (Fire Domination/Icy Assault), and I found it slow going. I'm trying a Perma-Dom build now (Mind/Ice) and it truly is rockin' the house. Of course, I tried the previous Dom build before the Dom-Love was applied to the game so that may have made the difference.
Give it a try, and by level 6 (only a few hours of play) you will know whether you have a keeper or not if you apply all the standard Rules of Survivability.
Good luck!

I recently made a grav/fire dom. And he pretty much always has dom up and running (or available), still lacking in offense but the holds and slows you get from grav mixed with the damage from fire is a deadly combo :)
This is Paramore:

I personally think that a Corr is an easier 'Introductory' AT to get your feet wet in the game Villain-side, but others may disagree and that is good too. It all depends on what 'speaks' to you as something you might be interested in.
I put Masterminds at the top of the learning curve of all the AT's just because they are truly unique to the CoX universe. Not saying that you have to be a rocket scientist to play one, but it doesnt hurt to know how different AT's and playstyles work together to make a truly impressive Mastermind. A total n00b to CoX can be devastating to a team as a Mastermind esp[ecially in the pre-20 levels. I'm sure others have dealt with 'pet jam & aggro' enough to agree.
Brutes/Tanks/Scrappers are a little more forgiving as Melee toons. Stalkers are not my forte', but then I'm not much of a Melee artiste.
Doms are an interesting group that I am just starting to work with. And Corruptors are just all around fun for me since I started CoH as a Blaster. The Corruptor is what I always wished my Blaster was. Decent damage although a classic 'squishy', and it's always nice to have the buff/debuffs to work with. You generally cant go wrong with a Corruptor or 3 on any team. So getting on a team is easy.
I always suggest that you look around first and see what looks good for how you feel you would play the game and go with it for at least 6 levels. That usually gives you enough of an idea of how well you would like to continue your 'build'. Under extreme circumstances I can see bailing on a toon at around level 20 if I had a severe case of the 'blahs' with a build, but level 6 is the turning point for me on most builds. So, not much time and effort lost.
