http://www.wowwiki.com/Novel_Guide

There's also a big lore page on the official website, but I prefer the novels myself because they follow more of a direct storyline in the world while the official lore page tells the story of the world in general (if that makes any sense).

You can probably order them at the official blizzard web store or on amazon.com or something like that. Now, if you're not willing to spend money to buy the novels then I would direct you to wowwiki.

But I have to warn you, it's not always the most accurate source and some of the things on there are just blatantly not true.

I got some of the novels as birthday gifts and I must say they are quite good.

The novels are side stories. They dabble in game lore, but as far as having an impact on the storyline, they really don't. I imagine they're a good read though, as I have read the Diablo series and they were pretty decent. Halo will forever be my favorite storyline in terms of game to book adaptations.
