The Gameamp GFX Contest!

That’s right! Stan Zhao, Slye Boy and I are hosting this brand new contest, where you can win several thousands of cash, minipets, a lots of ectos and of course the credit and honour of winning this contest!

The Guild Wars GFX Contest
Each participant are to submit a picture of their favourite skill from Guild Wars, in action. We want to see the best ingame animation of your favourite skill, performed either by a monster or by yourself. A GFX is just simply another word for graphics, so we want you to use your creativity and get the best skill in action caught on camera. Got a hidden picture showing your assassin performing a backflip from the “Blades of Steel” attack? Or a really nice screenshot of your flesh golem as he rises out of a corpse? Perhaps you are more subtle, and just wish to post the animation of your Flare as it activates? The choice is yours, and the options are almost limitless.

The Rules:

You can post 3 screenshots, showing a GFX (ingame animation of a skill), performed either by yourself or a monster.
You are allowed to resize and cut your picture, as long as we get a clean shot of the skill you are trying to capture. See the picture thread for more details about this.
The picture have to be clean, no skill bars and no editing (no photoshopping!) on the picture whatsoever. Use CTRL+Shift+H to get a clean screen.
Underneath each picture, make sure to write down what skill you have used.

What Can You Win: :
Among some of the prizes are:

In addition to this, we are also giving away 5 obsidian shards and 10k in cash. There will be 10 winners, and the prizes will be as follows;
10th: 5 ghosts-in-a-box
9th: 15 snowmen + minipig
8th: 10 golden eggs + minipig
7th: 5 birthday cakes + Victo's Blade + minipig
6th: whiptail devourer + minipig
5th: fungal wallow + temple guardian
4th: 15 silver dyes

3th: Minor rune of Vigor + Gemstone axe + Victo’s Blade

2cnd: Major rune of Vigor + 10k + 5 obsidian shards

1st: Superiour rune of Vigor + 5 black dyes + 5 globs of ectoplasm

Additionally, each contestant winning will gain +credit, provided by us when the competition is over. +credit might be given to other participants as well, if we feel they deserve it.
The contest ends on the fifth of November. All the pictures have to be submitted to the second thread, named “Post Your GFX Entry Here”. You are only allowed to submit pictures there, and to comment on other peoples photos. If you have any questions, ask them in this thread. Any questions asked in that thread, or pictures posted in this thread will be ignored.

The entries will be judged by Slye, Stan, and me. If you feel like contributing to the competition by donating more prizes, we would kindly ask you to PM me, or Stan + Slye. That’s it, if you have any more questions, then please feel free to post in this thread.

Just at the end here, we would like to give our best wishes to everyone, and say good luck to you all! May the best win! ^_^

Oh, we would just like to add that we have added the second thread to make it easier to look through, and answer questions. If we could get an admin to pin the picture thread, then that would be marvelous. I know Shuuga is going to pin it anyway, but if someone could to it before he logs on, then that's nice as well ;-)

Great idea! Some of the animations for skills in GW are beautiful, will be great to see them immortalised in those screens, entries are looking great already :)

Are other 'activations' allowed? I removed my "Dedication of Destroyer of Flesh" animated .gif cuz I realized it wasn't a skill, but Alby posted activating event consumables, is that allowed and can I use my .gif for 3rd entry?

i'm gonna say that pics of any graphics are allowed, but gifs are not.

we want this to be a fair contest and as not everyone has the same programs to create certain things, this would give an unfair advantage too some contestants. but everyone is capable of taking a nice clean screenie.

... but i will confirm this with wyatt and slye, and i'll update this post at a later date,

Ok, GIFS are not allowed, as it makes for unfair competition, but any screen shots are fine.

you cant post gif's, and its in the wrong thread :P, and there isnt really any type of skill graphic going on there... but feel free to post something else in the other thread :)
