Okay so, I have a basic 8-man, normal mode party with one mission in mind; complete all the quests to gain that HoM title.
Easy, right? Well, you might think, but when not even half way through (After the forgemaster quest, 4/11 on our list of quests to do), our bonder, our only nuker, a SS necro, and a barrage ranger decided to just up and leave, of course, two oh which decided to get armor first.
So, where does that leave a Vigorous Swordsman, a WoH Healer, a Splinter Barrager, and a SS/BR necro? Well, you might think we've given up, right? WRONG! 3 hours, 14 minutes later, the 4 who remain are still in it head strong.
And apparently, the monk has to bail soon, and we've only 5 quests left :(
So, basically, PUGs suck horribly, pricks who decide to only join with a selfish purpose, also suck.
Moral? Don't Play & PuG!

Im with you never ever play in a pug group.
I've learnt that lesson in somewhat the sameway as you, and now I always use heroes and henchmens, except for when I am going to UW or FoW where hencmen cannot go, then I get as many guildies I can and fill up empty slots with heroes.

Rough luck :( Thats alot of time to be wasting, for anything that requires a degree of commitment PuGs can't be trusted thats for sure, such a shame that so many people will jump in, get what they want then bail, if any of them are reading this they should hang their head in shame!
I'd try and organise a Guild party or get something organised via these forums with people who want the statue, good luck for next time.

Yep, after giving up trying to find a pug team to forgemaster I just asked 1 friend to come and we brought 6 heroes. No deaths, no leavers, took about 30 mins to get there. GG Heroes :P

PUGS do indeed suck to kingdom come.
I remember my first time trying to get to the forgemaster with a PUG, we failed horribly after both our monks left. with 3 of us left in the team i took 3 of my heros and the other two donated a couple. we then not only rocked our way to the forgemaster without any deaths but then almost cleared the whole place... till i go kicked of the computer >.<

Thats why I only use PuGs for basic simple missions that I could easily hench if I wanted too. better luck next time!

Reminds me of my own misadventures recently: I was going for the skill capping title so I was running all over Tyria capping skills. Well some are only found in missions so I did the last three missions several times. Most people that agree to do the bonus [thats where the boss was I needed to cap] wouldn't do the bonus. I even had some people quit on my after they capped their skill! I am one that would get in a PUG and agree to complete the mission, even after I got my skill.
Let me tell you, after getting skill 90/90 in Hells Precipice, I was ready to bail, but I didn't.
Now I hate PUGs, but anytime you guys want to team up to get that FoW trophy, let me know. I would also like to accomplish that.
