Well this years Halloween event in Norrath kind of snuck up on me. I did the events last year but have not gotten to them yet this year. So have any of you veterans of previous years Halloween quests noticed anything different this year. Now the first timers get a chance to jump in and tell us how you feel about the Halloween events in Norrath.

Well here's an update on the Halloween festivities in Norrath on the Qeynos side... (the same activities are available in West Freeport for all you evil-doers out there).
Haunted House
The Haunting quest is available from the Gigglegibber Scalper at the Ironforge Estate in North Qeynos and is the same as in previous years. This quest is scaled to your level and rewards you with an arrow mask and a bone trophy.
You have to release the spirit of the butler by doing chores in the house. The lord's spirit is released by doing a list of things for him, including tipping the bartender, releasing the lady's spirit (dancing with ghosts), and releasing the children's spirits. The final step is finding out what is really haunting the mansion by venturing up into the attic and killing a progression of zombies that spawn. And don't forget the skull on the bar to pick up a skeleton mask!
The only difference I found when doing the quest was that it was a little easier than when I did it the previous year... i.e. there were more prompts telling you what you needed to do.
Trick or Treat
This game was the same as previous years. You talk to the Gigglegibber Trick-or-Treater goblin near the North Qeynos Claymore and he asks you to get him some candy. Run around to the NPCs in the city and collect candy (right-click and select Trick-or-Treat). Collecting different amounts of candy earns you different kinds of Halloween masks. (cat mask, goblin mask, black mask, hatchet mask, amygdalin mask, and nightblood mask).
... so what's old is new, but old again... While it's a repeat of last year it is still a lot of fun. My favorite part is the trick-or-treating to pick up the different masks. Add a crafted dress (for the ladies) or a crafted outfit (for the gents)... or some cool dressup clothes to your character's appearance tab along with a halloween mask and you're ready for the Nights of the Dead.

Are the Antonia and Lucan masks still in the mix? Or was that just first year?

Hey Dread... as far as I know those masks weren't available last year or this year.

The trick or treating was fun, but I made the mistake of asking a guard for candy. He shrunk me down to about a 1/4 the size of your smallest gnome. The effect only lasted a min. or so.

Hehehe... that part was fun! Not so much getting turned into a big rat tho! Worst part about asking the guards for candy is that Trick-or-Treat was soooo close to the Attack option! :-)
