| Your top 3 scariest movies of all time? |

Okay Ampers, its Halloween! What are you're top three scary movies? For me:
1) The Exorcist (the original). Unfortunately saw this as a little kid and spent the next 10 years wishing I hadn't.
2) Halloween (the original). Did they ever actually kill Michael Myers? This was one scary but fun with everyone in the theatre screaming at the screen.
3) This one was tough. "Event Horizon" may not have been one the scariest movies I've seen but it gave me chills thinking about a dimension where only pure evil exist. However, I think I'll go with "Alien" here. Like they said, "In space, no one can hear you scream".

1) Exorcist. I think this will be a popular number 1. :)
2) The Ring. I don't know why, but this movie scared the hell out of me.
3) This is kind of a toss up of all the "first" movies of the major series. Alien, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th all fall in here. I have to "bump" your Event Horizon choice as well, it scared the heck out of me when I saw it.

Im not a horror movie buff or watcher but I have seen some....and to add to the list...I can concur on one film.
Event Horizon...my frickin lord...the whole scene of where he is crawling in the (essentially) air ducts/crawl space, then the lights go out...then bam.....that whole scene (despite me knowing) still....still gets me. That whole movie has some wicked things in it.
That is definitely my number one. Two and three? Hmmm...Maybe The Howling..or something to that effect. Werewolf movies tend to just give me that shiver.....like now. I remember when I was little and that movie came out, my parents loved horror movies but it scared the bujeebus out of me. I think it still gets to me, maybe its the whole transformation from something that is like us into something very unnatural.
I cant really think of a three but Alien could rank up there.

ok...this is scariness of when i saw them the first time, not now.
1. The Fly - old black-and-white, guy gets a fly's head and a fly gets his head. didnt sleep for days. ran crying out of the theater. that sort of thing. (btw, i was about 6)
2. se7en - guy kills people based on the seven deadly sins. not that scary, but the fact that it could totally happen in real life is scary. no creepy creatures, ghoulies or ghostie, just a murderous, extremely cuning and patient serial killer. totally twist ending (i kinda predicted it, but you know me, im brilliant) highly recommended.
3. um.......spice world?

Just had to throw in the last 10 seconds of the original "Carrie". If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about.

The following 4 came to mind, in no particular order
"The Grudge" (if something is making a noise in your attic, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT go looking up there)
"The Ring" (I still wont answer the phone while watching TV cause of this)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (Original) I was in JR High, watched it during the day with friends. Had trouble sleeping for a month.
Exorcist 3, this particular screenplay was supposed to be the second, and better than the first IMO. If you havnt seen this one go out and rent it.

Me and my wife collect good horror movies. Soooo...on my list I would have to say:
Event Horizon: Ahhh The black hole meets hellraiser. It scared my wife for days after watching, and a chick flick for her is the saw movies as testament to her horror fortitude. I must admit it creeped me out too, even after I read the book. Half expected pinhead to appear, he would have been at home there.
The prince of Darkness: When I was a kid I watched this, and couldnt sleep for days afterward. There's a scene where a posessed guy crawling with bugs just falls apart in front of you. and Alice ccoper makes a pretty good badguy iin it.
The ring: My cousin gave me a video tape copy he made of the movie, and said "dude, you gotta watch this." So I watched it and realized what he did. I kicked his butt for making the copy afterward needless to say. It's a pretty messed up movie.
