can anyone tell me alittle about the Ill power flash. Ive heard alot of bad things about it. IS it good, or is it even worth taking a power spot. I play on teaming with this toon. Cause im going to use him in the amp s.g. when issue 11 comes out. is it a good power for teaming?

Flash is good and is worth taking, especially if you plan on teaming. It needs slots to be effective, though. First off, just like most other AoE holds, it suffers from a lower base accuracy and a relatively long recharge time. I would slot it 2xACC, 2xHOLD, 2xRCHG.

One of the issues I had with this power is unless you have a good PuG, the hold is a sleep, so as soon as a fire or electric blaster shoots their AoE they all wake up and the power was useless.
I was running with a mind controller and hitting the bosses with the sleep power. It will hit a boss and sleep them with a single shot, but it was useless because the other teammates would immediately hit the boss and wake him. Sleep is a hard hold power with a team because everyone doesn't always watch for the sleepers, and they tend to wake up quickly.

Flash is a hold -- not a sleep. Swiss, you might be thinking of Flash Freeze from the Ice 'Troller set.

Hummm,
Flash is a mainstay of "Old School" Illusionist. I have it on a version of Whim and yeah, you need to 6 slot it. I went with one Accur, 3 recharge and 2 hold. I'd go in and Flash while a teammate was doing a Nova. She was happy not to pummeled by survivors like she usually did. Flash isn't as useful to a Soloist build. I take Haste instead.

On a related note: my ill/storm troller has the option of 2 aoe holds: flash. as discussed, and (disorient $ fear i think for the thunder clap). which do people prefer. is 1 easier to slot. i plan on running a good mix of solo and teaming. Which power can I NOT skip. Do i need both?

Ill/stormy here also, I skipped Flash. I may respec and try it out, but i have faired well without it. Get Spectral Terror, this is a good one. I plan on skipping Thundler Clap, I have Hurricane, so if baddies get close I just turn that on.
So to answer your question, I dont think you need both.
Spectral terror is easy to slot, youll want 1 Rech in there, by the time it expires it will be ready again. Another Fear might be ok.
