| Warlock Boss fight tip - Blackheart the Inciter |

For those in the Outlands running instances, getting keyed and trying to get their dungeon sets, you’ll have to come across this butthead in Shadow Labs eventually. For those of you that don’t know the fight, here are some high points:
1) Basic Tank-n-Spank to start. Let the Tank get aggro and burn him down.
2) Periodically he does a mass mind control followed by the statement “Time for fun”. During this phase, you all attack each other.
3) The mind control drops, you let the Tank regain aggro and start the burning down process again.
What was getting me is that I’ve worked very hard on my DPS gear. And by the third or fourth mind control, I was the one killing everybody. But I found a little trick that almost completely turns off the friendly fire during a mind control phase:
Summon your Succubus for the fight.
It may not be every time, but almost 99% of the time I do this, the first thing she does is Seduce me. Effectively turning off the DPS I’m doing to the group. Granted, the other DPS on the team will still attack you and each other, but the healer has a lot less health to get recovered for the group if you are not contributing to friendly fire DPS.
There are a lot of humanoids in this instance, and you may already be on Crowd Control duty. But for most boss fights everybody starts to scream for the Imp’s Stamina boost. Just tell them it’s in their best interest if they don’t agree with your choice of pets. The one time that she didn’t Seduce me directly, she seduced another party member stopping their DPS as well. But like I said, 99% of the time she turns on her master.

Thanks for the tip. ^^
I'm still a long way from the Outlands with my lock but I'll try to keep that in mind. :P

Thanks TP.
Well now that they changed the required rep to honored instead of revered, you will be seeing a lot more people available to do heroics and etc...
Another tip, you can remove your weapons just before the MC - hunters, warriors, rogues etc will be doing a lot less damage - If you have a hunter in the party you can have them lay frozen traps before the MC and that will make the MCed ones not attack the frozen target. If you have a druid dps or tank in party you can recover by just having them cast tranquility and not waste the healers mana.

Another thing I remembered after Mem mentioned the unequiping of weapons, specifically of the Locks. You can also switch to Demon Armor as opposed to the Fel Armor that upps your DPS. Granted, because it's a spell cast, he might change it right back during the MC phase. I've had him do it for me a couple of times.
But this spell usually gets overlooked during the MC. So if you have a boss mod that will tell you when he's going to do it, or if you are just familiar with the timing, you could do that as well.

Although too small for one of my guides, I never thought about the tips section. I'll think about that in the future. The Warlock section is just so lonely! I want to talk to my fellow evil do-ers.
The one thing I do like is that when I put these in the forums, they inspire little add ons like the unequiping weapons trick. I'm going to surf through the tips section today and see how it looks.

LOL, Dru.
Ya that boss is very annoying.
I've been there a total of 3 times, beat him 3 times but very painfully. I've yet to beat the last boss with that sonic thingy.
I especially don't like being attacked by my fellow mage. Life as a squishee is............sigh.

Yeah, certain timed attacks are great to burn early so he can't use them. Although I do always find it funny when he uses my Howl of Terror and no one attacks each other at all. It lasts till nearly the end of the MC phase. But I've only seen that happen once. He does tend to use heavy mana DPS attacks first if they are available in your queue.

Ok, this boss is a big pain in the butt. Trying to do this now with my mage and we can't get it, it seems like he mcs every 30-60 secs, but other ways to save yourself from your group is to spread out from melee or other caster, if you have a mage fire or frost keep frost ward or fire ward depending up together with ice barrier if you have and blow all your CDs right away. I did lucked out one time when I ice blocked just before and he didn't do anything, but anyways a tip for healers is to keep yourself and tank alive the rest doesn't matter as they can bandage or pot.
