I have noticed there is little to almost no activity on these forums. Game AMP WOW and Guildwars have a lot more activity. I was hoping that the LOTRO would be more of a thriving community or am I mistaken and there is another forum website where every one posts?

A bit of the problem with LOTRO is that the official site has all the information you ever wanted, so there is no real reason for anybody to browse the web looking for info and/or forums. And on top of that, the info GameAmp has up here is not very up to date or interesting for active players. As a result not much people come here.

I think it's also because LotRO is a fairly new game (respectively) and doesn't have as many players as other MMO's.
The official forums (Codemasters and Turbine) are good but they lack content such as guides, and I really dislike the navigation system.
I think that is we added some more content (guides, SS's etc.) we could kick start this forum. I'd really like to see 'Latest LotRO Guides' on the frontpage- like in GW Amp because it's what makes this site more exciting than other forums.

Anyone wants to write guides for this site, short or long I will gladly look them over and approve them. I played the game long enough that I know what is basically going to work and what isnt. I put a lot of time into this site and so did grifter. The problem was that when this launched we had an incompitant SM who did not do his job, he was only here for the beta events and never did anything with the site. But the time Griff took over the forums were dead. I can't blame him, he tried. I am willing to put the time into the site if there are people out there that would use it. If there is anyone willing to be a staffer here they can apply at the becoming staff and I will gladly look over the application as well.

LOTR seems to be a great game and from the folks that I know who are playing it should be around for sometime so it does suprise me that this games forums are not a bit more active. Especially because GameAmp is a multi game site you would expect lurkers like myself to have questions about the game that would yield better answers from a trusted source like a fellow Amp'er. :) Even you do not have questions feel free to share tales of your exploits and what you think is right and good about the game and you might just lure someone over that has been sitting on the fence waiting for a change from what they have been doing.

I would love to see the gameamp forums get more active. I have turned into a mere lurker just passing through to see if there is anything new happenin. Ever since I stopped playin CoH and started on LotrO I just never get around to GA anymore.
This site just needs more info!!! There is no quest section or deeds that can be earned. Not to mention CRAFTING. I am sure many other players like me would be glad to submit mission, crafting, deed or music info there is just no place to do it here.

I am not playing this game but I know people that play it really like it and it is a game with some depth and that it is still fairly popular so it suprises me too that this section is not more active. Of course this time of year lots of folks get caught up in pre holiday activies as well as school deadlines like finals or reports being due so most of the forums on a multitude of GA and non GA sites have had a significant drop off in the # of forum posts.
Ooo and something about the cold makes some of us a bit less active. :P Thanks for posting and reminding more of us this place needs some activity; I bet someone puts the pilot light on under this one.

Yes it is that time o year with holidays, cold weather n school that drops off alot o activity but come on people. WE NEED LOTRO GA!! For all you out there not postin cause of school I will get my minstrel to make ya a Tome to learn to play the cowbell... learning CHECK cold weather people I will personally burn all your foes to the ground with my toastiest of fire powers (lightning may be a lil to hot) and not to forget the holiday people who could have been doin many season Festival things....holiday enough for me :P
Seriously tho I think if this site had alot of quest info it could be up there with the Lorebook and mmodb. Those are really the only 2 sites I have ever seen mentioned ingame by players as references. As a founder in LotrO and onetime active GA member I know I would love to add a bunch of info. I have nearly 900 completed quests in my tracker (yes I counted) and I think it would be awesome to add a bunch of them. Then next time someone asks where I got my info I can send em here. After they find what they need I would be like ohhh yeah I probly added that quest :D lol another thing I thought would be cool is having somewhere you could download .abc files for the music system.(download! not copy n paste from a forum into the text then change it to a .abc file. Alot of the files I have found wont quite work for ingame but still there are hundreds of songs out there I have found. People ask me all the time how I am playing it and where I got the file but I never have an answer cause they are always off some 20 year old site that has nothin to do with LotrO.
oh well just my 2 cents hopefully it will help in the /lightingpilotlight ;)
