Your thoughts?
I'm not really sure about pets not leaving corpses. I dont really pvp anymore so Im guessing its there. It's not bad for pve as there are lots of bodies anyway.
Assassins seemed to have taken a pretty big hit.
I must say i really like Mhenlo now having WoH in EotN. It shall help out a lot while I finish up hardmode

well lets see no more barrage pets for minnion master to raise the MM cant gain energry for mspirts period. but braggae got a little better LOL wow alot of usless pets will be sold to the pet tammer now LOL

This is kinda lame. Impale was a major spike used by most sins, it seems unfair to repeal that from us. I seriously hope the HOTN damage thing was a joke, other than that, I think i should be able to live.

I'm not really sure about pets not leaving corpses. I dont really pvp anymore so Im guessing its there. It's not bad for pve as there are lots of bodies anyway. |
zOM[experlativedeleted]G! Hate it, hate it, hate it, hate it! ok now that I've got that outta my system, I'm just in shock at these. They make no sense to me.My biggest beef is with the pet corpse change. since when do corpses become selective if they can be exploited? they should have coded something like using Death Penalty greater than 15% (limiting you to 1 minion per pet, initially, unless ya use a candy cane) but give a simple message 'corpse has 16% DP and cannot be exploited'.
My other gripe is with them differentiating a spirit from a soul, and Soul Reaping getting the shaft again.
Personally my mes loves ineptitude and a hsrt 20% mod isn't fast enough for me as it is, i gotta wait longer to dmg/blind pesky wamos?! grrrrrr.

assassin is already one of the narrowest classes nerfing hoto/trampling seems so stupid when the shadow prison combo is essentially dead with the bls nerf anyway. People could still use black mantis trampling but that loses a bit of its power in needing basically 5 attack skills for a lethal combo and being slower. Shoulda just nerfed bls imo the ox nerfs hurt a lot of other builds outside of sp.

This is the stupidest update. Why would they totally change the function of BLS? They nerfed a lot of good sin skills but at least now people can actually use a brain to make a sin build. Impale was a good skill not it's not a spike like it's supposed to be which is dumb. Meh it will get repealed.

Heh, I, personally, don't use Horns or Trampling in the combo I have at the moment (and probably won't due to it being substantially weaker) so I'm not neccessarily crying "NOW I CAN'T USE MY SIN ANYMORE!!!!" but I do not see the need for A-net to weaken them, much less weaken them that much.
I do use Impale in my combo but the nerf doesn't hurt it THAT much. However, it makes it more interruptable which isn't cool.
BTW, as you can see, I was furious over the change to BLS and still am. Stupid cookie cutter sins pretty much ruining skills by overusing them -_-

Its ashame all this is for PvP and PvE takes just as hard of a hit because of a PvP balance..

The BLS>HotO>BSS>BoS>Impale spike could kill a 700HP person with no support. It needed to go. There are plenty of viable other assassin builds, alot of which see play in GvG's and stuff. But nothing quite that imba.
Soul Reaping finally isn't effected at all by spirits = WIN. And I don't quite understand the pet exploitable corpses thing, though it may have something to do with heroway in GvG's.
Ineptitude was grossly overpowered. Sineptitude was overpowered on both sides of the split. Now I bet we'll be seeing more balanced builds in play.
Also, HB right now is great for farming rating. Nobody has a clue how to play new builds.

He nerfed 9! of my friggin builds with this nerf. Maybe more, I think its up to 10 now. Black lotus strike come on, that he didn't think about for more than 5 seconds. I think he just goes to his user page and just reads random complaining stories about "WAHHHHH SIN SPIKIE ME" when it's not that overpowered, maybe in HB but I really dont care about that.
He nerfed Some of the best sin skills avialable which made the class viable for PvP! Black lotus strike gone, Ok so no hex builds. Horns and trampling gone, K so no GG sin and lots of other builds are hit hard. IMpale sucks IMO, bad for a spike, good by my IMpale/toxic shock combo. -3 builds.
Expose use to be this:
10 energy
10 recharge
1 cast
Then he changed it to this
15 energy, 15 recharge
Fine, a good nerf, the extra cost makes it harder to run.
15 energy 25 recharge.
Um ow? He nuked the hell out of this skill *sigh* I guess its now totally dead.
15 energy 25 recharge 1-11 duration
Ok now hes just kinda taking a dump on this skill. Just take it out of the game already, I'm not going to use it, Promise.
Look at this, all of those builds are now dead to me. He really better not keep this update. Congrats on killing shadow prison, and my favorite profession. Yes, killing it. I have about 3 good builds that I actually would want to run in PvP left

What? No it can't. Maybe a 500 health, if that. But in Gvg you have another monk, in HB you take hex breaker or hex removal, in Ta/Ra you taking something to block them. It's not that hard.

PvE shouldn't be complaining. They got buffs (barrage) Not nerfs. hex based sins didn't get used in PvE, if they did they sucked. Spirits? What necro uses spirits in PvE. No they are MMs or they aren't effected. PvE didn't get touched, they got buffed.

Meh, that's why I'm saying all they had to do was nerf the energy gain or damage on BLS OR weaken Horns a little. Instead they murder HoTO and pretty much destroy BLS' use. It was a 6 skill combo (when you include the hex you need) anyway and when you're done spiking (failure or not) someone, you had to wait for the remainder of the recharge for Shadow Prison.

Meh, for some reason, the fact that spirits are souls which cannot be reaped erks me somewhat.

My sin (which uses Assassin's Promise in PvE) is hex based and he does quite fine. In any case, the nerf to BLS has given sins no real incentive to want to use hexes. I already have several different builds for my sin but for the cookie cutters...well, they're not doing so great.

don't get it, pets are flesh and blood. but i'm sure they have their reasons.
my main question will be... do untamed animals still leave a corpse? as they're not yet a pet...

Its easy to test, go outside of town kill a untamed animal and try using a corpse exploiting skill. Like a well.
This charge hardly affects me as I'm using a warrior most of my days.
This does affect my trapping ranger because of energizing wind, so it does affect everyone in some ways.

Assasin: Meh. I'm not going to comment here. I use my sin some, but not enough to warrant a good complaint :P.
Mesmer: Meh, I don't play mesmer, so no affect on me here :P.
Monk: Doesn't really change the skill any. Went from 150 to 130. 20 less health really isn't that big of a deal considering you're still getting healed for 230 health total if you're below 50% health :P.
Necromancer: I can understand this maybe for PvP...but still...to gain absolutely nothing from spirits? Bah...makes no sense at all. Spirits=souls. "Soul" Reaping. Hmmm....:P.
Ranger: Woot for Barrage :D! Pets no longer leaving corpses? BAH! STUPID! Once again, I can see why from the PvP aspect, but.....they're living, breathing things....that leave bodies when they die. So to not be able to exploit the corpse even though it's there?....Hmmm :P.
Misc: Good deal...more healing power for Mhenlo! Woot!

Assuming the person had low armor, didn't fight back, had no self heal and you completed your whole chain then I'd expect 700 damage if I'm devoting 6 of my 8 skills (7/8 if you count a speed buff) towards a single chain/target that has a 20 second cooldown anyway.
I may sound like another whining sin that got his precious Shadow Prison sin nerfed but it was an unnecessary change in my eyes.

I completely agree, I just started using SP, and I loved it......2 or more people? Aint gonna stand a chance......1v1, usually kill most people(except sometimes warriors). It was not overpowered as I have also been taken out quite quickly(and easily) by both rits and other sin builds, 1v1. Whereas I never stood a chance if I was in the middle of a huge battle.
Now, I really dont care if they revert those changes back or not, I have a rit build that can kill just as well as the SP sin, but easier....constant KD with nearly as much damage.(actually does slightly more than the prenerf SP build) It even pwns the SP sin.
PS; The only PvP I do is AB, so there is a good chance SP was severely overpowered in other PvP, but for what I used it for, it was fine.
As for pet corpses....uhhh....WTH? Pets are now non-fleshy?(only non-fleshy creatures dont leave corpses). I mean, pets are still good to tank a little and B/P teams are in no sense dead, but this is the dumbest thing Anet has done in awhile.
Impale...Meh, I use it in the above mentioned rit build, and it still pwns.
Exposed Defenses......ok.....before it was what, like 15-16 seconds? (at the attribute I had it at) Now its like 9-10 or so. Kinda annoying as it only works for a very short time on 1 target(usually not even as long as there stances do now). And its a hex which is easily removable. Not to mention that 99% of the time, the targets you need to use Exposed on, can blind you just as easily.
Horns of the Ox - Its a joke skill now.......its KD wasnt any good if the other team stayed together, now its damage is useless too.
BLS - Ok....What?? It was fine....revert it, thats all I need to say.
The SP sin spike was good, if you rush into a group of enemies, you will usually die before you can kill one. If its 2-3 enemies, theres a small chance you will kill 1, then die shortly after. A single enemy, usually kill it unless they interrupt your chain or blind you.
With the SP sin nerfs, maybe anet should rename the assassin.

Sins should have at least 1 build that straight out murders most other build in 1v1.(notice I said most other builds, not all)

Yes, and it seems anet cannot acheive balance throughout there game because there are way to many different elements. RA, HB, GvG, AB, HoH, TA.....they ALL have different gameplay, therefore they ALL work different with the same skill set.
Maybe anet should just make multiple versions of each skill.....if your in an AB area, SP sin is how it was, if you go to a HB area, its per the new nerf.
Thats about they only way they can truely achieve any sort of balance in a game with so many play styles.
They should face the fact that not ALL players like the form of PvP they are basing skill nerfs around, therefore when they change something for that PvP area, it screws up everyone who didnt even do that type of PvP.

The only downside of this update is ineptitude; the skill was fine for over 2 years; and now they decide to update it? I will still work around it with my mesmer, but it is a needless update imho (tbh; overpowered in PvP? work around it and find solutions... dont state its overpowered and do nothing)
If i may ask to the general public here: from all the updates; how much did you actually feel of it in the game? Not sure about you all; but i myself never really got hurt by it. I see a lot of negativity before people tried it even... run the game; open a build; and if it did affect you; make the needed adjustment. You will see its not hard to work around it.

I feel it alot. Got me commander points from people who only knew how to play assassin. Ineptitude was less of a problem than clumsiness IMO, but that combined with the SP sin nerf will probably destroy the sineptitude GvG split.

From a PvE PoV I don't see any real issues with this except for the pets thing. Seriously, it's just dumb.
I don't care about b/p, Tombs is a waste of time and every other area is easier with a balanced or Ursway team. But for a pet not to leave a corpse is stupid.
Ineptitude being nerfed is a bit dumb too, shouldn't they alter the new skills to fit the old?
As for the Sin I don't think I've agreed with ANets stance on what a Sin does since forever.
A Sin is a solo spiker (if there is such a thing), it keeps out of the main fight, sneaks around and kills a back line opponent before returning to regen. I used to run a Hex based AP build in PvE and it worked perfectly...the Sin has since been nerfed so much that I can do more as a Crit Barrager (Especially with the Barrage buff) than I can as a true Sin.
There's always a way around the changes but it doesn't stop us getting peeved :/

Narrow view of PvE Necros there. Spirits no longer providing SR is a minor effect on PvE and should have been done at the inception of Factions, as a Necro who sometimes puts Vampirism in his skill bar its not gonna affect me much at all, it is a very minor loss to SR benefits in most PvE situations but still a loss^^ If I can still use SoLS on a spirt with less than half health, I'll be happy :)
TBH I don't play assassin so I'm not familiar enough with the builds to comment, only comment I would like to make is about how many Assassins you see in RA and AB, perhaps the other professions might get played with a little more in the low end PvP areas?
Pets not leaving exploitable corpses ? Now to me thats just completely illogical, they are flesh and blood after all, it's not gonna have any impact on my style of play but come on...

Yeah couldnt agree more- it is lame that the high end PvP meta dictates all skill changes throughout the game.

Hum... i do... if you synergise Necro with Rit you will find some spirits that work nicely with AoE hexes.

They nerfed Assassin even more! And making it a lead attack is also pretty dumb.
They should stop nerfing all these builds. Give an assassin blind/interupt and they are down. It's not that hard to counter imo.
