I used to have it that the mouse would keep flashing a square of the desktop on my screen. It might be the graphics card being too low, or set to high. Or you just need a new mouse.

Or he fails at life?
Seriously though, what's with the question marks at the end of sentences that aren't questions?
It's kinda like the pirate who walks into a bar with a steering wheel attached to his belt. The bartender looks at him quizzically and asks "Did you know you have a steering wheel attached to your belt?" The pirate looks down at his belt and shouts "Yar! It's driving me nuts!"
On topic time: I honestly have no idea what could be causing his problem based on the information given. If you supplied information about his Hardware, OS, and where he got the client we might be able to help you out a bit more.

Hmm. In that case I still have no idea what his problem is. Still, knowing exactly what he's got under the chassis would help out quite a bit.
I he can't figure it out then all I can say is. . .
Practice makes perfect. (I can beat the whole thing in less than 30 seconds every single time. Some might call it cheating, but I call it being resourceful.)
And if he can't get the hang of it then he can always just be one of those guys that only uses the keyboard.

hehe
To me its a red flag that he may-be using linux. Some people have been able to tweak wine to run Co* but the major complaint is the invisible mouse. And others that did not tweak wine and use Cedega also have mouse pointer troubles myself included.

Might be better of using a Linux/Cenega combo then.
More supported hardware :-)
The problem seems to indicate an overlay issue. Easy to create when using virtualization like Cenega or Max's Parallax. Or Vista. I'd recommend the usual of updating videocard divers, checking memory usage e.t.c and then calling tech support :-)

I grabbed this from the COH forum
| QUOTE | MISSING POINTERS
In some instances, loading the game client on Vista will result in your cursors/pointers not showing up. This is an easy fix.
1-Right click your desktop shortcut for the City updater.
2-Select 'Properties'. Make sure you are in the 'Shotcut' tab.
3-Select the 'Target' field. It should look something like this: "C:Program FilesCoH TestCohTestCohUpdater.exe"
4-Add -compatiblecursors 1 to the end of the target, so that it looks like this:
"C:Program FilesCity of HeroesCohUpdater.exe" -compatiblecursors 1
If you have installed your game to the default location, you can copy and paste the line above into your target field.
Note: This issue may be addressed in the upcoming Issue 11. |

Nice find, Geeksta! Very un-evil of you. Although we will get a new villain in town now, which is very diabolical. Hmm...
Either way, most excellent!
