I'm glad to see this section of the forums back and i need to thank Drucila for listening to me on this one as well... hopefully it's not a complete disaster or flame-fest.
As many of us like to rant and rave about irritating things in the game, on the site, etc. lets please keep this thread mature and clean.
controversy is completely OK, but there are right and wrong ways to do it. lets please follow proper forum guidelines and write in an appropriate, educated manner.
Rant and Rave can be a lot of fun, again, lets keep it fun and entertaining, not depressing and degrading.
Thanks all, enjoy ranting and raving once again. =)

No seriously it's good to have it back, how long has it been gone? Can't remember. Well I think people should be allowed to complain about things as long as it does not get out of hand, flames or such. I remeber the reason why we got antiflaming policy...poor fellow being flamed by nearly everyone for being scammed.

it was removed sometime during the '100% flame free' crusade. i believe that crusade's over now, and arguing and complaining is back and welcomed in full-force, so long as it follows the forum guidelines.
here's an example of a bad and good response in rant and rave.
Bad = "that totally sucks, how can you be so dumb? it's obviously done this way! Rawr",
Bad = "THAT TOTALLY SUCKS>>>" caps = bad, my eyes hurt to read all caps so please refrain from it as much as you can.
Good = "I don't think that's a very good build at all, you should try this... elaborate... I can almost guarantee that this is a more effective build"
you can disagree and be constructive at the same time.

I do not want to be a kill jo but I wouldn't say I'm happy to have it back...
I beleave you were there Everdream when all we had here were people getting in arguments and flame wars...
O well I hope this will turn out much better than the last Rave section

it's really quite simple, if you're not happy to have Rant and Rave back, don't use it.
and yes, i was there when there were senseless flame wars. which is why it was removed and dozens and dozens of users were banned. hopefully we can think of this as a priviledge more than a right to rant and rave.
hopefully the people using this forum will have a good grasp of what is sensable versus completely sensless and stupid.

in regards to eiirish, yea, that post did turn ugly fast, but seriously... we vets were all thinking that.
i'm sure that will come up again, and like i said before there are smart ways of telling someone else they aren't :P

I remember staying out of that thread because I thought it was dumb.
Anyway, the point is, with the fall of the rant and rave section and the rise of the flame and die rule, gameamp became a whole lot less interesting.

sometimes we need a little spice in our lives :-)
Also ED and myself are taking full responsibity for this forum so if something happens its our fault. We have made it clear that people are not allowed to flame, anyone that has been on the network more than 1 week knows how this site works and how these forums work so I am standing by it and saying rant away. We do it on the wow site all the time have been since before I took over and it has worked fine.
A word to the wise...dont make me mad, I tend to only ban those who piss me off. Otherwise I am probably going to laugh unless you are outright mean and rude to someone and we all know what mean and rude is as opposed to what is direct and forward.

I agree that there are other forum topics that can and have been used for ranting...but me personally, I have to admit I have missed that section. Towards the end it was getting kinda bad, but there were a few gems in there that just made me smile and go..."ooohhh I so know how that is!" In fact geek..there was a rant I did a month or so before it was gone that you said you liked...so I know there were some you didn't even mind reading. lol
I hope it can keep mature, time will tell, but if it can be, it will be a popular place I am sure.

^^here we have the classic mindset of what led to it being closed in the first place. R&R isnt an excuse to be rude for the sake of it, read what ED and Dru have said about it further up. People post there to get something off their chest it's not there to provide you with an excuse to flame.

What ho old chums! I rather think this new take on pets not leaving corpses smells rather fishy. I don't like it one bit.
Myself, I'm not convinced. I don't know that we need these forums back and I'm skeptical about how this will turn out. If we can keep them on track they will be fine otherwise look forward to the sequel:
